Breaking News:

You're welcome to making your own 3D pokemon MMO whenever you wish. If you dont like what's out there, dont complain about. Do something about it.

we are sorry that we can not comply to your high standards.

many of us are veterans of the series, and actually want a gameboy-ish feel.

I can assure you though, that these are not the gamenot's sprites, or at least won't be by the time we release.

please join us on irc sometime, if you have any questions.

I doubt anyone is going to create a 3D MMO of Pokemon ever. There are have been several iterations of Pokemon MMOs and each one has been 2D.

3D would be nice, but communities like ours, who are supported by volunteers, simply don't have the resources.

To be honest, I think the only entity that could create a 3D MMO, would be... err... whoever owns Pokemon ;)

What I can say, is that PU is and will be better than any other Pokemon MMO you'll find. It embraces new ideas and doesn't stick to the norm. You'll find that other games stick to the same boring story line, statistics, art and everything else.

im sorry i thought this game would just be ripped from the games and just slap some custom stuff onto it

but if everything is from scratch then it shuld b ok

and the reason i said i wish for a 3d world is because i wanted something different.

I seen alot of pokemon games that is just the same as the original games or have bad spriting ect and i thought this would be the same but i will give this a shot

honestly, i quite prefer the 2-d sprites over any 3-d game. That may just be me though.

It's case-by-case for me. Honestly, the two major factors that made me quit runescape after one hour were:
A) The ghastly hostility the community has towards eachother.
B) The Sonic-CD quality 3-D.
If you just made it 3-D and it just looks like the first 3-D video game ever, it's going to be lame. However, console games made within the past five years have done remarkably good jobs at developing 3-D. Can you imagine Metal Gear 4 in sprite form? Or call of duty in 2-D?

I think it would suck a bit if It was in 3D. For me it's will be more nostalgic and fun in 2D. Help me feel young again!

And to FrenchFry, same reasons I left. I don't even know why I ever started playing that game. I think it was the freedom to level grind as much as I wanted with no backlash.

Pokemon are classicall to be in 2D, I just can't imagine the usuall way of gameing in 3D, allso, it would be really hard to make for a team of voulenteers...

If you want it 3D, as ghost said, do it yourself. It's this simple.

Donate 3 000 000 euro (Even this will be little), and we'll make a 3D pokemon game.

That includes
- license costs (if we're lucky)
- A team of experienced 3D designers
- More, and EXPERIENCED programmers
- Advertisement, and marketing (includes having to employ a whole financial department)
- Rent costs for an office in Tokyo, in order to have the ability to fully co-operate with Nintendo.
- The will to spend 3-4 years on making a 3D mmo with the thought in mind, that it won't be halfway shutdown by Nintendo due to not having license for the Pokemon trademark.

If you want 3D pokemon, go buy Pokepark Wii or something.

Sonic 3-D blast still sucked like a bucket of ticks, and would have been much less terrible ifit were 2-D
But how's that one-liner that still drives the point home compared to my usual 10,000+ word posts?
