Feebas locations.
« on: November 20, 2010, 09:39:29 PM »
So we all know how annoying it is trying to find a Feebas is in the console games, right?
So why should Feebas stop being a pain in the butt in PU?

My idea is to only be able to find Feebas on about three or four water tiles.
Of course, once the locations are found - everyone will have a Feebas. :(

But wait!

I was thinking that the three or four tiles would change every day (or week), so you'd be REAL lucky to find a Feebas. Also, the Feebas would be the average level for that area.

So if on one day a Feebas tile is in a nooby area, the Feebas found there would be low-level and if on one day it's in a high-level area, then the Feebas would be a fairly high level.

I sure hope this all made sense... it does in my head.

well, I mean, it shouldn't be ridiculous for someone who really likes milotic, say you loved pikachu, but you could only find him on 4 random tiles in all of the giant PU Universe, would you be happy? On the matter of feebas, I feel fishing in every area should have an extremely low chance of getting a feebas, like .5% or such, and that is how I think the issue of feebas should be handled, but perhaps only in certain locations as well.

I know that it would make Feebas really difficult to find and since Milotic is such a popular Pokémon, it'll be infuriating for a lot of people... but in D/P/Pt (I haven't played HG or SS) Feebas can only be found in 3 tiles on a huge lake...
It took me forever to find one and even more foreverer to evolve it into a Milotic, but since Milotic is such an awesome Pokémon, it was worth it.

Also, I agree that it shouldn't be utterly ridiculous for a Milotic fan to find a Feebas...
How about 20 to 30-ish water tiles that change daily?

I really like the idea of the tiles thing, simply because it'll make Milotic a very rare Pokémon to have in the game and since a lot of people are Milotic fans, it would make it funner (in a more 'OMFG! WHY CAN'T I FIND A FEEBAS? :'() way for a person to obtain it.

I like the idea of the low chances on certain tiles, but it should definitely change daily. That makes it more of a challenge and even something to be proud of once you catch it.

By the way, what if someone was just a huge Feebas fan and didn't want it for Milotic? Heh.

Pokemon Consoles = Not MMO = Small map = this is OK.
Pokemon Universe = MMO = HUEG, HUEG, HUEG map that is also ever-expanding = This is a no-no.

Maybe feebas should just be an event pokemon?

Use Super Rod (or whatever the Rednecks use, Jugs, I think)

At a specific lake or Body of water.

5% chance of finding Feebas.

END OF STORY.

The thing is, a .02% find ratio? really... Thats far rarer than a Shiny.

So make it LOGICAL. God, I didn't think some people could think that this, "3-4 random water Tiles, changing daily" thing is easy.  If I saw 3 people get a Feebas on the same day, on this plan, I would rob a Bank, and donate $5000 to PU.

Im done now, Have your damn fun.

I don't know, making it an event pokemon would limit the amount of players that can catch it. Which, depending on how PU will work, could be a good thing. Personally I like to think that a Pokemon MMO should be like a "real" pokemon world where what each trainer has depends on their skill and what not. Not every trainer should have a Milotic, and this would sort of guarantee that ...

If Milotic really is that much of a problem, its not getting one thats the solution, Its usage.

I will Personally Raise a Jolteon (Named Marisa), and if I see a Milotic, I will Thunderbolt its ass.

END. Wow... I guess I really did end it.

5% is way to much 0.2 is 1 every 900 pokes... not rarer than a shiny because shinys are 1 every 8000+
but i really agree on making some pokemon event pokemons wich crews/guilds can win.

You bet your sweet ass he did.

However, you gotta think:
Feebas is a species, not a flippin' Shiny. 1 in 900 is just stupid hard. If you truly want to prevent the over-accumulation of any one species, just make it an event pokemon.

I've actually forgotten all that I had previously said on the matter, but I agree with you, Frenchfry.
I just think Feebas should be rather rare, since it's hard as hell to get in the console games, it should be pretty hard to get it in PU, non?
