Ive noticed many websites are now using "Chatango" as a free and effective way to communicate in real time with active users on the website.  many sites that i frequent give their top members a "moderator" status on the chatango in order to make sure the conversations stay clean and on topic.  just a possible consideration to add some more beef to your forums.
