30 minutes until the match.
I told my men to go eat.
Make up your mind fast, or you could go rouge like Eclipse. I left and went back to the mess hall...

Moving to the mess hall, Stefan enjoyed the privileges of being one of the top fighters: Ice in his drinks and fresh straws. As he was removing the wrapper of his straw, he thought of a new way to annoy Rex and the guards at the same time, as well as put his time as a freshman to good use.
Wadding up a good-sized spitball, Stefan stood behind Rex and shot it right into the ear of an unobservant guard, before putting the straw in Rex's hand and sitting down, facing the opposite direction.
"Hey, brat, you think you can do what you want just 'cause your team's at the top of the charts? I'm authorized to shoot and burn your goddamn corpse!"

One problem, your boss won't like seeing one of the largest names dying out side of the field. If I die your boss will cut your balls off and feed them to your kids. Do you know why? Here let me tell you something, I bring in 20% of your views.
I threw the straw at the guard and turned around. I could see Stefan laughing. Ass hole. I walked up to him and sat down.
Nice joke.

Stefan stood and bowed slightly. Hijinx are an art form.
"Freshman year taught me one thing, and that's how to hit a target from fifty feet away with a wet ball of paper through a straw."

Ha, but it wont help you win a close quarters fight against a swords man. Let me give you some advice, give that "girl friend" of yours the token I gave you, and make sure you can see it just looking at her. K? Oh, and don't just go busting into rooms, you might run into Eclipse...
I got up and went back to my tray and started eating.
25 minutes until the match.

Noting that Rex still felt superior, Stefan sat down and attacked his pizza.

Deccers cammed up, breaking up the shape of his face and reducing shine. From the armoury he armed himself with flash and smokes. Surprise would be crucial in this setting. After all his pre-battle preparation was completed, he finally got down to some breakfast.
Wheatabix with 3 sugars went down a treat. Once again Rex and Stefan were arguing in the mess hall.

Dakentio thought about it. he thought that being on the best team would help him find his woman. He walked into the mess hall and seen the man named Rex he sat at the table, where there was another guy sitting there already.

Rex, you have another ally. Not only was I a soilder who still believes in orders, I am the best Swordsman here. Dual Swordsman, actually.

Finishing his food, Stefan got up and left the cafeteria. Rex was recruiting more lackeys. He went to the gym and found a good-sized punching bag, and began the training drills he'd been neglecting since he got thrown into Omnicide.
Punch, punch, kick. Punch, punch, kick. Punch, punch...

By the time he had to pause from the pain in his knuckles, a good-sized crowd of people had stopped to watch him. Why? It was just a standard drill.
Looking around the room, he saw several swords leaning against equipment and the walls. That explained it. Swordsmen. Not used to seeing anyone use their hands for a fight. To them, what he'd just done was hardcore. As if to punctuate that, the bag tore itself off the ceiling, taking its chain and a good sized chunk of plaster with it.

"...Huh. Must've had a shoddy installation job. Didn't even have steel reinforcements."

Pushing past the crowd, Stefan took his place at the arena entrance. Finding Astrid, he handed her Rex's token, then left. Today, she'd be on her own.
