#212 - Scizor
« on: April 30, 2011, 03:35:21 PM »
Name: Scizor
Number: 212
Type: Bug / Steel

Abilities: Swarm, Technician, Light Metal

Base Stats:
75 / 115 / 100 / 55 / 80 / 65

Level Up Move Edits:
None

Move Tutor Move Edits:
Its current learnable Gen V TMs
Its current learnable Gen V Tutor Moves
Superpower
Knock Off
Bug Bite

Egg Move Edits:
None

Example Set
Boost Priority @ Life Orb / Leftovers
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Technician, Adamant
- Bullet Punch
- Metal Claw
- Pursuit
- Bug Bite / U-Turn

Explanation of Set
Watch out - this guy means business. While his 105 Atk may seem *just* usable compared to his base 130 of old times - Metal Claw takes a resisted hit, and turns it into a +1 Boost to Attack, from a move that has 82 Base Power AND STAB.
Once you get one or two of these up, Scizor can start Bullet Punching and Pursuit-ing as needed.
Life Orb deals more damage, while Leftovers makes an extended stay more likely.

Example Set
Banded Priority @ Choice Band
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Technician, Adamant
- Bullet Punch
- Rock Smash / Superpower
- Pursuit
- Bug Bite / U-Turn

Explanation of Set
You think Scizor got nerfed? Okay he did... but, it doesn't stop this set from being insanely powerful. It still causes a stupid amount of damage, with STAB'd Priority.
A new thing about this set is Rock Smash - Superpower has great damage, but it lowers your attack. Rock Smash not only deals fair damage (with 82 damage from Technician), but, doesn't lower your attack, and drops the Pokemon's Defense - often either forcing them to switch out, or take a much more powerful hit for staying in.
You do not want to be on the recieving end of a Technician Rock Smash from a Banded Scizor when you've got -1 Defense.

And that one, lone, distressed flying Krabby went on to become the most powerful being in the Universe.
