Yes, they used a tower to amplify the power of some black gem that they found to control pokemon through its radiations. But let's not get into too much detail there.

I think he meant Absol.
Who cares it looks like shadows of Almia, it doesn't mean it's bad.

That might be it... but he calls himself "sol" in RPs, so that might be something completely different.
