One thing you have to think about is that most of the time, the first gym of the region is Rock type, exceptions being Johto and Unova. Fire being weak to rock, it was a lot harder to start off with a Fire type starter.

So no, it isn't harder to play with Bulbasaur. In fact it's easier, because he has type advantage for the first two gyms. By the time you get past them, you already have other pokemon to use, and you aren't hindered by type disadvantage as much.

God,fire is doomed both in the metagame as competitively.
Also idk if you realized this,but the grass starts always end up requiring less exp to lvl then the water/fire starters.

Uhh,pokémon Emerald,poor Blaziken has to put up with,a first type rock gym.Three legendaries effective against him.And as if it isn't bad enough.The champion and the final gyn are both,mono waters.

So before you say fire is for noobs.Reconsider your thoughs.Drink a hot coffee.
There is no such think as the pro type,or the noob type.
And btw,the metagame isn't hard,if your not lazy.To overlvll yourself
