I was showing my bro the starter pokemon with a google search. And I noticed a possibly over looked option... not my personal choice but still an option to be considered.
But from Pokemon Yellow Special pickachu edition.
Now I know there are usually three forms but if you started with pichu then that could work out. To handle the whole electric stone thing maybe all characters get one for signing up.
Just a thought.
In the same line of thinking you might also look into evee but I find that less likely.
