I gave Calvin a sideways look.
"you've certainly obtained a sarcastic sense of humor over the years, haven't you?"
I looked over to Maxwell.
"Any idea how long it'll be before someone else arrives?"
I could see it in his eyes. He was scared. I'd seen that look plenty of times on the streets. But inside, I was a little scared too. Course, you'd have to be insane not to be. Only a fool wouldn't be afraid in our situation.
I glanced over as Calvin made his pessimistic prediction.
"And you've gone farther than this fires ring of light for something other than food HOW many times...?"

[Tickles]

I was at a loss for words, I had the plan, but I didn't take into account Lucy or how exactly to solve this. I sat silently, obviously, he had a lot to say, and I was just interrupting. Ayara seemed more level headed than me, I felt as though she should continue to ask the questions.

"Anyway, Calvin, what's this theory of yours?"

there was enough food to keep me alive...though supplies are running low....

he sighed, this whole situation was the same as everything he had seen before

Look...Lucy...she is a little more lenient with me than she is with other people...she is just kind of waiting for me to die of old age or something...you two are fresh, so she is going to go on you guys like white on rice, even if you have torches

my theory has to do with why this mist is here, or why lucy is the mist...though I am fussy on that myself, even though I was their when it happened

You need to go to the carnival

they both looked at the old man like he had gone crazy...maybe he had

You see...I was there when the mist came...I had taken my niece to the carnival that had just came to town...and we were in the fun house...and she had went and got lost...and when I saw her...she was getting surrounded with this energy...things I had never seen before surrounded her...I tried to save her....but the mist came

he shook his head

that is where all this began...I thought locking the carnival off and hiding the keys would help...but it ended up making it worse

I was shocked at this explanation, and couldn't make sense of anything, Fatigue was getting to me, and all I can think about now was how hurt Calvin has to be.

that's why she hasn't really tried to kill me yet...I'm getting tired....one thing you got to know about this place, if you fall asleep, make sure that fire is as strong as it possibly can be...cause if it goes out while your out, your screwed

I took out my sleeping bag, and threw it on the fire. I wanted it to have as much fuel as possible. I proceeded over to the bush I found my bag at before, pulled off as much as I could, and brought it over to make the flames bigger.

How's that? I can get rid of my whole bag if you want.

"Watch the way you through things in that fire, if you put out the fire then lucy isnt going to waste time...well Im going to bed, we can take this on in a little bit...or you guys can, Im not really planning on going anywhere...

Good night Calvin, Ayara. We'll figure this out later.

I closed my eyes, maybe throwing my sleeping bag was not a good idea, but we were at least safe. I drifted into sleep.

[Mr. Fox]

I could smell the living, there were three of them. Soon there would be more, but the others, the others would beat me to them. I approached the camp of the three living, they were fast asleep. Ah... in their sleep I could more easily feed off of them, before consuming their souls.

The voices started talking again.
-This male has a houndoom...

I extended my shadow, touching him only slightly. OH! He had such a strong and vibrant soul! Just touching him made the voices quieter. I got closer, touching him with my hand. I could feel the life flowing back into me. I wanted more, but i could feel the others getting closer. I had to fend them off, these living were mine!

-Sleep well my living!

Shark woke up very groggily, like he just awoke from the dead. He looked around, but his vision was blurry. He can see a mist though, and a bright light behind him. He thought he saw someone in the mist, but he walked tward the light, like it was calling him. Just then he snapped back into reality and sees he was about to walk into a fire. He sees something sucking the life out of a man.

...?!

He takes a burning stick without thinking and swings it at the ghost, yelling Go away!

I snap awake as I hear a yell. Sweeping my feet under me, I'm immediatly crouched, looking for the source. There! There was someone else here, attempting to fend off....well, I think it's a ghost. I glance over, grab a lit stick from the fire, and run to help him.
"MAXWELL! CALVIN! GET YOUR BUTTS AWAKE! THERE'S A GHOST!"

[Tickles]

I jumped awake, only to find a boy and Ayara swinging a torch around. When my vision half focused, I seen a ghost, attempting to eat me somehow. I jumped up and moved close to the fire.

Ok you freak, lets see how you can handle three of us!

I grabbed a large stick with a good flame, and began jabbing at the spirit. The two people who tried to save me looked like they needed the help.
