Daycare/Breeding
« on: December 30, 2009, 07:33:21 AM »
I think a daycare system would be pretty awesome. Give your pokemon to a guy to level and pay a fee when you get the pokemon back.

Breeding two pokemon would also be great to be able to get a certain form, move, etc.

hasn't this been done before? yeah, im pretty sure i've seen a daycare system as early as in....oh what was it called now?.....oh yeah, red and blue version!

due to the fact that this is text, please be aware, that while this was meant to be sarcastic, it is in no way meant to be insulting; i am merely making a joke.

for reference sake, i too would like a dare care system, and i think what your trying to get at is that the day care would be the only way to obtain specific species and such.... this i think is an excellent idea

I think this is a bad idea in a Pokemon online game.
One fact is that you have to be better than other people, so you should train your pokemon yourself and not let the pokemon get better automatically.

Well, maybe we can set some rules for daycare like:
- Only 1 Pokemon at the time (for a maximum amount of time)
- The Pokemon only gain levels (it will not learn any new attack)
- It's IV/EV stats and happiness will go down.

Yeah, these rules would make it better. But high-leveled pokemon should get less ep than weak pokemon

Or you can only bring Pokémon with a low level to the daycare?

You can make it so if you keep a pokemon in the daycare too long, it will not listen to attack. Similar to how they do it in the real pokemon games. You must keep training the pokemon and feed it berries to like you again :D

I had two other ideas.

Theres a limit, for example pokemon with level 25+ cannot be given to it.
Or every pokemon can just be trained 10 levels. Or maybe with another amount.
But the second idea wouldn't be good for weak pokemon...

However, if they're higher than 25, then you couldn't breed. So, that's not a good option to have.

Maybe, the pokemon could still stay if they were level 25+ for breeding purposes, but they just wouldn't level up past level 25.

Sure but what's the point in having them there, it'll only cost you money..
