What pokemon would you choose for your team?

Tell us the 6 pokemon you would place in your team if you could pick what ever you want (not including legendary) and why.

Mine is Absol, Snorlax, Salamence, Swampert, Infernape, and Gallade
1.Absol- My favorite pokemon
2.Snorlax- Ever since the first generation games I've had Snorlax in my party and he never disappoints
3.Salamence- You need some type of flying pokemon to fly you around and I feel this would be the strongest option
4.Swampert- I like the mixture of ground and water types in a pokemon
5.Blaziken- If you don't like this pick my Blaziken will kick you in the head...nuff said
6.Gallade- I've always had a soft spot for psychic pokemon but in the games they were only great if they were fully evolved and I was too inpatient

And It's a fairly balanced team...or at least I think it is.

Hmmm...

Gengar - Poison and Ghost types both have great attacks that make your opponent scream for mercy haha Gengar is the perfect blend.
Houndoom - Houndoom has excellent burst damage potential, and because he simply looks cool lol
Espeon - Great Special Attack and is a pretty balanced Pokemon. It doesnt suffer from low Defense like Alakazam.
Honchkrow - Great Stats, Can defend itself from Fighting Types even though its part Dark Type, and again...just looks cool lol
Exploud - I just like the idea of a Pokemon using sound as a weapon lol
Electivire - He has some good attacks that arent "obvious"

I'll could use a grass team.

1. venesaure - treeco - chickorita - tortwig (any grass starter)
2.Ludicolo - grass Water
3.cactune - grass dark
4.Tropius - Grass Flying
5.Cradily - grass  Rock
6.Abomasnow - grass Ice

Abra-gives you room to use the best psychic pokemon
Dratini-love the dragons
Umbreon-always wanted to use him
Squirtle-I love that little guy
Pidgey-I always carry him around

I would use:

1.Flygon-Great move type coverage with only two uncommon weaknesses
2.Slowking-Greatest pokemon ever
3.Kabutops-Strong and fast and awesome looking
4.Bayleef-I like it and it has good defenses
5.Steelix-Very Sturdy pokemon with the awesome steel type
6.Kecleon-Able to be any type

Not the most diverse team, but i'm a first gen player and you could complete that game with just a few moves on any pokemon...so:

1. Gengar - Obviously for shadow ball/sludge bomb, then psychic and thunderbolt to reap the rewards of his high spec att.
2. Lapras - Good defense, and nice to have surf and ice beam...maybe even psychic and thunderbolt again (why not?)
3. Dragonite - So many good TM's to stick on him, always immense
4. Aggron - Not 1st gen, but with pretty much any type attack possible, is good to stick out against a heavy physical attack hitter.
5. Rapidash/Arcanine/Ninetales - depends on my mood, whether I want elegance, aggression or cuteness...is it just me or did they really get fire pokemon just right in first gen?
6. Squirtle - wouldn't fight other pokemon, he'd just sit on my shoulder. And if I was doing really badly he'd be my backup cute pokemon, with big eyes, to persuade the enemy not to kill me...in the knowledge if they didnt take mercy he'd leap at them and bite their shins...he he

Typhlosion - Between being awesome for burst damage, and learning moves such as earthquake make him one of my favorites, plus hes just plain awesome.

Scyther - His quick moves make him perfect for finishing moves, plus hes and old fav of mine.

Mightyena - Just my fav. non legendary looking dog pokemon (tongue twister.)

Togepi - Don't under estimate it with its small size, with metronome and a few other attacks, it could own all.

Ditto - He can transform into any pokemon, so well your pretty well off no matter what

Lucario - I don't know if hes considered a legendary but, hes bad*** if you catch my drift so I had to add him.

I like how people are putting pokemon in their party thats not fully evolved(squirtle, bayleef, etc.)
It shows that they really like those pokemon and not just going for a power team

well here's mine ^ ^

Infernape: all time favorite Pokemon, fire/fight, can keep up with Blaziken in a fight(which any1 who has a Blaziken is my rival)
Ampharos: you can't deny the awesomeness of him, he just looks so harmless, but then here comes thunder
Azumarill: Mostly there for the cuteness factor, you always gotta have one
Houndoom: Dark/Fire who wouldn't like that ^ ^
Mightyena: pure and simple, he's wolf like and awesome, plus fire fang
Tyranitar: one of my classic favorites, and also my last ditch Pokemon, if I'm about to lose i send him out

Kingler - By far my favorite Pokemon as far as design and such goes.  Plus Swords Dance + Crabhammer is a pretty lethal combo

Forretress - Spikes and rapid spin is nice, the double weakness to fire sucks but I just really like this Pokemon

Flygon - I like the whole Ground/Dragon thing

Blaziken - My favorite fully evolved starter

Umbreon - Who doesn't love Umbreon?  Best Eeeveelution.

Raichu - He's pretty weak, but Substitute + Focus Punch works fairly well.

Also, I'd have Espeon, Swellow, Onix, Bellsprout, Glaceon and Haunter trained as well and switched around sometimes too, some of them aren't fully evolved but I like them too much to not use them.  I really, really hope it's possible to get more than one Eevee in this game, it would be awesome to be able to catch them in the wild.

1. Charizard - It's a fire breathing dragon. Need I say any more?
2. Machamp - Nice fighting pokemon, can have moves of many types e.g. Lightning punch
3. Gengar - A lethal combination of sleep and dream eater
4. Dragonite - Can learn a variety of moves, pretty powerful
5. Gyrados - Pretty over used, but for good reason
6. Raichu - My favourite electric pokemon.

Note: This is my non-legendary team and I only use Gen 1 pokemon.

Assuming this is my fighting team (no hms), this is what I would choose

1. Quillava, I wouldn't evolve him cause he's more badass as Quilava
2. Jolteon, My favorite Eevee evolution
3. Scizor, one of my favorite generation 1/2 pokemon.  Plus the steel type is OP
4. Blastoise,  He's got freakin cannons on his back, nuff said
5. Glaceon, He's just cool lookin.  Get it? Cool?
6. Garchomp, My favorite pokemon from the DPT generation and a powerful guy to boot

I'd also switch out any of the other Eevee evolutions because... well they're powerful and some of the best looking pokemon imo.

Hmm.. I have different teams but the one I'm thinking of using in the beginning is:

1. Magnemite x2 - My favorite electric-type, part steel-type
3. Forretress - Powerful Pokemon - will learn the useful move called Toxic Spikes
4. Onix - Will eventually evolve to Steelix, a powerful steel-type
5. Scyther - Great attacks and looks cool 
6. Koffing - Strong poison attacks. Evolves to one of my favorites, Weezing!

2) charazard (because charmander can't fly)
3) kadabra ( takes work considering abra only knows teleport and is hard to catch)
4) primate (hes like the fonzie of pokemon)
5) squirtle (cuteness)
6) chikorita (sasssy)
