Agreed.  There are a few Gen IV I like but for the most part my favorites are in Gen I and III

cool, but i think four made it to complicated it had way to many pokemon that required way to many methods to obtain including other methods of evolution plus now theres like 20 ledgendary pokemon, and with new types. its just gotten way outta controll

I borrowed a friend's Diamond a few weeks ago and Im having even more "WTF is this" moments.

So, imo, anything after Johto seems a little over the top.

i like all generations, the creator of pokemon even said that at first people aren't supposed to think of them as pokemon but let the feeling sort of build up the more you are around them

I say Gen 4, even though I haven't played any of them. I have heard some things about some of the pokemon though and some of them seem ridiculous. They have some pokemon evolve way too much and some of the names just seem stupid and put there because they couldn't think of anything better.

I feel like the 4th generation killed it, but honestly I'm just happy to see pokemon live on, and not die like other series/ card games such as digimon, which was actually good in my opinion.

yes but new games could be just new situations, new gyms, and it would be cool if there was like an expasion thing where you just download your pokemon from your old one to your new one and you just enter a new area.

i like all made before emerald but ive seen two of the generation 5 pokemon and they look pretty good(P.s. heartgold and soulsilver are generation 4 along with pearl platinum and diamond

Pokemon was never butchered, I agree. Just, some of the Pokemon got a little.. well, weird, I guess. I liked the 4^thGen, actually. Maybe it's just me, but I think Pokemon got worse starting 3^rdgen. I agree that 4th gen was annoying with the different evolutions, but at least the Pokemon were okay. I hope the 5^th Generation has some sweet new Pokemon to offer
