what about manaphy? it is hatchable so there can be more than one. could it be avalible by doing something special or something of that sorts?

It's extremely hard to get a Manaphy or Phione through natural means as it is. Unless you have Pokemon Ranger or someone trades you one, you aren't getting one. If they even offered, which I think would be under heavy consideration, it would not be easy and definitely not accessibly to low level trainers.

Shaymin may be common in the movie, but they are not common anywhere else. Very few trainers have even seen a Shaymin in their lifetime; it's described as them being almost as rare as the legendary birds.

Phione is the only weak one, with terrible base stats. Manaphy and Shaymin, especially Shaymin Sky Forme, are considered Uber for a reason. Their attacks are extremely powerful. If Seed Flare gets a SpD drop, which is extremely likely, then Shaymin can actually rip through Blissey, the biggest Special wall of OU and Ubers. Manaphy can be a serious pain to take down with Rain Hydration and Rest, coming off it's above average defenses and HP.

Which they are, if you don't have an Action Replay. I was talking about rarity in game, and subsequently, rarity or possible inclusion in PU. My point still stands that a majority of the DS gaming population has probably never owned a Manaphy or Shaymin.

Here's a suggestion. Maybe one of the PU devlopers should list ALL pokemon that won't be catchable and make a sticky of it. That way newbies won't have to make these kind of topics, (Unless they haven't read it of course.)

yes but make a whole new thread and perhaps name it "Legendary pokemon won't be catchable in PU. Here's a list of all the legendary pokemon." Or something
