Title: Dragonite anyone?
Post by: draft92 on April 16, 2010, 06:33:23 AM
I was just lurking by and found out that you can't hcatch any rare pokemon in PU. Which is really fine with me, since some of them are over powered. I mean it wouldn't be fun starting your adventure and you decide to battle some random dude and he has 3 legendary pokemon. There I stand with my Totodile and he carries the pokeballs of lugia, articuno and giratina.. pokemon goooooo!!!

Anyhow, I was just wondering if Dragonite will be catchable. Because I know Dragonite is supposed to be a rare, but not SUPER rare pokemon but still pretty rare. Will it also not be obtainable?
Because I'm such a Dragonite fan ^_^

Please understand that the above is one of the reasons that Legendary pokemon will not be catchable.
Rares however, will be. The rareness will be kept and with the balance project they won't be overpowered in any (at least major) way.

Technically Dragonite will not be catchable - Dratini will. (some day)

Legendary's are rare for a reason, They should be hard to catch and hard to find if kept that way it leaves something to strive for and for that reason it makes Pokemon games great the total randomness is the spice of life.

I hope its hard to catch him so that once you do it will be worth the hunt. Also so not everyone has him and its a common pokemon in a persons team.

Legendary´s rare? HAHAHAHAHHA
Think about it... Everyone has got a legendary...

Hard to find? what a joke.... They always appear at the "end of the game" or it will appear before you can complete the game.
The thing is... Legends suck, they are easy to find (except 3dogs in GSC), they are poorly designed and way overpowered (at least some)

Also I would like to add that Legends are only "legends" because of the story line. Yes they are OP and some do just suck, but what makes them a legend is the story and to be honest just having it is a cool and awesome accomplishment.

Ah, that explains it. What is a legendary somewhere might not be a legendary elsewhere.

For example, when Europe didn't know the rhino, they thought that it was a legend, mixed of dragon and unicorn... or something like that... until people brought some from Asia.

Nope, but Ho-oh is an international legendary, a known legend from all the known areas. ;)

are we really sure about that, what if all pokemon came from space, maybe another planet, and Ho-oh just happen to come in very few numbers on account of its size
