Trainers Lounge / Re: What Are Your Goals On Pokemon Universe?
« on: May 18, 2010, 09:23:12 PM »
Hehe... That's a difficult one.

My ideas so far are:
 - Gathering or joining a team (I used to be part of one in Tibia, that was awesome!)
 - Exploring (hopefully finding all the Pokémon will be a challenge)
 - Get rich on trading

Wahahah! Finally, a thread where I can show my despise of the Pokémon I despise! Well, the fourth generation wouldn't be worth even mentioning (I'm a first and second generation fan, and find a lot of the third and almost the entire fourth series merely a parody of what Pokémon really is).

In the first series I don't mind any Pokémon, except the over-frequently appearing Rattata (simply because it appears over-frequently).

In the second generation:
 - Aipom: Nintendo is showing the first signs of losing their grip, by putting a hand on the tail of a stuffed monkey for no apparent reason.
 - Unown: These would be a brilliant idea if there were something making them worth collecting. Just looking for them all without having a reason except just to have them all gets boring really quickly.
 - Skarmory: I'm happy to see a non-legendary flying Pokémon that is not also normal type, but why did they have to make it so useless and solid? This Pokémon seems exciting at first, but has no function except enduring for a while.

There goes my list :P In the third series, the Pokémon are mostly not too bad, but none of them are fascinating or exciting the way the older ones were, merely substitutes. In the fourth series, the neccessity of making new Pokémon shines through, not leaving much of an impression of originality and creativity. It would be easier to mention the few ones I actually like.

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Name suggestions for citys/caves/routes etc.

Bacon in spanish is Tosino so maybe that can work

Nah, I personally prefer bacon. most people probably don't know what Tosino means, anyway.

Well, I think the game should include some not entirely obvious jokes as well, as a gift for the sharper, or at least more knowledgable ones :]

Also I wish for names that don't reveal everything about a city, for example, "Ice Shore" for a place with an Ice Gym takes away the excitement of finding out for yourself. Colours, however, like in the first series, that would be a cozy theme for a city.

Trainers Lounge / Re: How Long Will you Wait for This Game.

I'll wait for as long as it takes. Waiting for this game isn't an activity that can't be combined with other activities; if I went away for a year the game making progress wouldn't cease because I did.

Anyway, I don't think Nintendo is going to make an MMORPG. That would require of them to wait longer between publishing series, since it would be more important to the players to know every Pokémon as well as possible, and a too high pressure of new Pokémon would make many lose interest. Such reads my hypothesis.

(Related to the pressure; whoever thought of making those alien-like evolutions of Magmar, Tangela and Electabuzz need to be slaughtered brutally in public. Rationally speaking.)
