Ahh I see, thanks for the insight. Hmm, from that optic though, 'tossing' items in the traditional games always meant that you would not have it back. Come to think of it, I don't remember discussing about how items are to be handled in PU; whether they are lost when thrown away or just put on the ground and available to whoever comes around.

So, I've noticed it a while back but thought it was something temporary. But now that it's still persisting, decided to report it: When it was still working, I could click on 'Click here for all unread topics' to see the threads with new posts if I ever ran out of time and couldn't check out updated threads (if a thread gets updated, you log in, don't check that thread, log out and log in again, it won't appear in the 'unread posts since last visit' list, but in the 'all unread topics list'): ![](http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/078/2/a/capture1_by_unknownoo8-d7aw6f5.png) But now, I'm refused access to that page? ![](http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/078/8/6/capture2_by_unknownoo8-d7aw6ew.png) Not sure if it's just me or if someone else is having the same issue (if they ever used that feature of the forum ![Tongue :P](http://www.pokemon-universe.com/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) )

Hmm, something else I think that has been mentioned before, but never really explicit: Players can use items in the traditional games, at least, they can during any battle as long as it's not a battle against a Battle Facility (Battle Frontier, Tower, Maison, unless the rules of the facility allow otherwise) or another Player, or finally an official Tournament hosted by Nintendo. This means that players have been able to use items against the Elite 4 and the current Champion in the traditional games. Maybe it's worth mentioning that for any battle involving the Brutal 5 and the Champion (whether the player is an NPC or a real life player), items used from the bag will not be allowed. Because I seriously can't imagine a player winning just because they had a ton of revives/potions or the equivalent and PP stalled their opponent

I kind of have a feeling that such events were already planned for, because after all, an MMO of this kind with events being only about tournaments, I think that players would have demanded for more variety in events This thread is a little related. Oh I like the idea of event-only items, but you should be wary and make them un-tradable, to prevent tragedies such as the party-hat in Runescape...
Could you perhaps give a little summary? I wasn't there when this happened ^^; And I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with those items being tradable :s

Hmm, I'm not entirely convinced it'll be something that would be required as such. After all, Pokemon games have been well received without the facility of being able to clearly communicate with your Pokemon. The exception being in the Mystery Dungeon games where, because of the absence of humans, playing such a game with this much emphasis on a plot would be close to unplayable. Though on another hand, that gave me an idea for a quest. It'll involve helping someone (could be a professor, or someone you met on your journey) who is trying to build that translator and seeks your assistance. The device will ultimately probably not work, but that doesn't mean that you can't go on quests. E.g. The 'someone' wants to try the translator on one of your Pokemon, finds is somewhat working (the translator might be speaking something not so sensible), but the 'someone' believes that it only needs some little adjustments and wants you to bring some other Pokemon species to try it on. Maybe have it even be on different themes at a time, like for example, bring only specific normal type Pokemon at the start, and changing as the device is being worked on, or something like that. And who knows, maybe some outsider organisation will hear about the device and get involved, which would make the 'main quest' longer, and cause the development of the device to become slower (e.g. research papers/records become lost, so the development has to start all over again). Of course, in the end, the 'someone' might even give it up, or at least tell that to the player but if the player visits them again in the future, they'd see them working on it, but no more quests will be unlocked (and still keep them possible for other players). Anyway, I believe that such an item is not entirely necessary. By nature, rangers are expected to understand the feelings of the Pokemon they capture, otherwise, they wouldn't be able to capture them in the first place, and upon capture, the Pokemon understand their feelings in return. And... I think that leaving the qualified nurses/doctors to their job is the best thing to do. I wouldn't consider being able to understand Pokemon something that would help heal them. Oftentimes, people don't know what they need and do the opposite of what they should do to get better... only to be worse off! Just throwing out some random (and possibly not so good ideas on that one) ![Tongue :P](http://www.pokemon-universe.com/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) I hope I didn't sound too negative out there ^^;

The good thing is, some stuff are getting active again, but it'll take some time for sure until it's fit for a beta test, so we'll have to wait some more and see...

Been watching only a small part of it. It's interesting to a point, but not as much as being able to play by your own self ^^; I mean it's nice and all to see how people react and get together to overcome challenges, but it's not something that can hook up my attention for hours.
And some other people have started doing something similar to twitch plays pokemon after this got so much popularity... Anyway, as long as they have fun xD

Um, hi guys.
Been away for a while due to work related things taking a bit more of my time; this time of the year is the 'busy season' and two weeks ago, I was a crash course for a certification of ISO 27001 (Now I'm a certified ISO 27001:2013 implementer and auditor!). Last week was a bit hectic with an announcement from manager that I was put on an assignment abroad and this week, I'm not in the country but in Madagascar. The internet is not always reliable and the work is a bit new to me, so I'm kind of overflowed with work. I can't believe I'm in a country even less developed than my own xD but oh well, I'll try to survive here for the next 3 weeks to come .
After seeing so many notifications in my inbox, I just had to see what was happening around here and I'l glad that the activity is picking up a bit. I hope I'll be able to acquire some new skills for when I too will be ready to be more active and also be able to bring some contribution ![Smiley :)](http://www.pokemon-universe.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
Keep up the good work!
Wow, I wish Roloc and I could travel, where are you from?
I'm from Mauritius. I thought almost the whole forum knew xD
Everyone should know everything about Jerry. He's the the most likely to be stalked on PU. Sorry, Jerry, your just so stalkable. ._.
But can anyone really stalk me? =P I'm new here, but I'm VERY excited about this, if it gets created. I've been a pokemon fan all my life, and I have never seen a good online MMO. The last game I played was Diamond and Pearl, because I never got an advanced DS. This game, however, sounds superb and I truly hope it gets created. An entire new region with entirely new pokemon, all fanmade? What's not to get excited about! Keep up the good work, and thank you for everything!
Joe
Sorry, no fan made pokemon. The art and pokemon base stats can be different, but the pokemon are the ones that are already known.

Sorry for the long wait guys. Life's been busy for me ^^;. I might not log in as much, but I check my email as much as I can. I wasn't able to connect to internet the day and with timezones and stuff... I hope you won't have to wait as much in the future.
