Armor abilities - [...] Armour lock is a handy ability that not only make you invincable while in use, it also deflects enemy shots and also emmits an emp blast. Downside is that you can't move, so you are open to attack as soon as you leave the lock down.

Hologram is handy for distraction tactics, or just making the enemy sniper waste his rounds or to make the enemy give away thier positions.

Armor Lock also has another use: if a vehicle slams into you while Armor Lock'd it will massively damage it. (Or outright kill it in the case of the Ghost and the Mongoose.) It's actually possible to severely damage a Scorpion or Wraith with the EMP blast after it breaks. Try it the next time a Warthog is barreling down on top of you. I guarantee you lulz will be had.

Hologram is my second favorite. There are not enough words to describe how useful, and hilarious, this can be. I have destroyed so many vehicles, hidden enemies, and snipers because of this one Armor Ability alone.

We would welcome a bug trainer. Bugs have been getting better over the generations, and aren't the type of complete suck that they once were.

Link to HUGE picture that offers some humor to go with bug types.
Caterpie has made great leaps, as well.

I feel compelled to speak because, it seems, like half of Gen V is now bugs. And not just any bugs! But like bug / steel. (I seriously saw like 10 different ones, including evos and prevos.)

But Bugs are definitely getting a boost in Gen V. There are a lot of good looking ones I'm willing to use and try out.

I'll get back to you on any competitive teams I make using Black and White 'mons, but definitely expect for me to try out: Burunkeru, Nattorei, and Ononokusu.

Draw a postman sprite.
48*48

In case that wasn't clear, draw at Postal Worker, aka Mailman, sprite using the dimensions 48*48. If you want an idea in what style to use, try talking to Alais in IRC.

Otherwise, just start drawing random sprites you get ideas from and show us.

Really, the whole topic was quite silly and anyone arguing about how to do it, etc.

Seeing as Wonder Guard cannot be skill swapped in the first place.

Can someone tell me how fire fang can go through wonder guard? I don't know a lot about wonder guard, and I've never battled a pokemon with it.

There is currently a glitch, known as the Fire Guard Glitch, where if you give Wonder Guard to a Pokemon that cannot normally have it via game altering devices, any Pokemon knowing Fire Fang can hit through the ability regardless of whether it is Super Effective or not.

I do not know the specifics, but I speculate it has to do with Shedinja being weak to Fire and a few other factors.

multiple accounts

This could easily be taken care of in many ways. Most likely, signing up will be pretty relaxed. However, if this becomes a pressing concern we could always link accounts forum names. (Less messy than IP addresses for people who live in dorms and whatnot.) Then we could just watch forum names instead. Or there could be another solution I didn't notice. The team is made up of some pretty intelligent people.

trading all starter pokemon

Two ways to prevent this will already be a part of the game. One being that trading will not be accessible right away. You will have to earn the right to trade with other players. The second being that, seeing as you have to have at least one Pokemon with you at the time. (And trading won't be coming early), then it will be more of a hassle to try and exploit like this than just getting the Pokemon naturally as the game progresses.

stuff...

Mr_Dark can be quite persuasive when it comes to doing naughty things you shouldn't be doing. I have faith he will... right any wrongs committed by anyone on the forums.

My personal opinion: Slaking + Giga Impact+ Choice Band = Win

true, but if someone comes in with a good STAB fighting move; maybe even focus blast with a special sweeper on a rest turn and a choice scarf, that Slaking is going to have some trouble, Snorlax has a much higher survival rate at that point and time

You wouldn't even need that. Giga Impact forces Slaking to rest on the Truant turn. This means he can no longer switch out during his Truant turn.

The way Slaking rests, you could win with one move: Protect. Simply Protect on the turn that he is not loafing around and you are guaranteed to take no damage from any of his attacks and are now free to use the Truant turn as an attacking turn.

Not that Salamence isn't good, but...

He is as ugly as a rock.

But, I think I have a new favorite Dragon.

In all honesty, I can easily seem him being neutered from the OU metagame. His only STAB is Dragon, but he has an Attack close to Groudon's, great speed, learns Dragon Dance and Claw Sharpen, and has a pretty wicked move pool. Plus, he can always use an ice reduction berry. Ouch.

Still, finally: we get a good looking Dragon to back up all that power.

But... Latias, Latios and Giratina do take x2 damage to ice... ::)

Thanks for pointing that out, Jerry. I was tired when I wrote that and what I was thinking didn't quite make it to the post. Edited.

Did it ever occur to you that he has high speed and can learn fire type moves such as fire blast, heat wave, etc. or moves like stone edge and such.

Ice Shard has priority, like Quick Attack, and is the most commonly seen physical ice move in all metagames. And while those attacks work, they also have lower than optimal accuracies. Ice moves, in general, have 100%.

So, Flygon can do well against opposing Pokemon with an ice move. It's usually better to U-Turn out into something that can take it.

say what u will i've never lost for a reason and anyone who uses dragons i will poverise until they make one who is super fast dragon will always suck because of the x4 weakness to ice

wat?

And Kingdra, Palkia, and Dialga take neutral damage from ice. Latias, Latios, and Girantina all take 2x to ice. That's not even factoring in the newest ones in Generation 5.

lol i never knew ppl actually like salamance....thats pretty bad guys every dragon falls from a sprinkle of ice from any pokemon with no speacial.... and uhh garchomp sux too he just a lil faster... dragons are pathetic ppl

Yeah, sorry. I forgot that the single most devasting type in the game 'sux'. Especially with the one one resistance, huge Base Power, and stats to rival most Ubers.

/sarcasm

And I fully support Salamence going into Ubers. Hell, I was one of the suspect voters that put him there. Something I will enlighten a lot of our users about, that they don't seem to understand, is that Smogon and its tiers are based of usage. Over Used (OU) are the top 50 Pokemon seen on nearly every team you go up against in there alloted tier. [That's how Alakazam made it down to UU. He is powerful, but people just didn't use him enough. He dropped to rank 50 on usage and was lowered to the next tier, UU.] ) Everything under that is Under Used (UU.) Then you have Never Used even further below that.

Now, I haven't checked the usage statistics for August, (Before he was banned) but I know that back in July Salamence was seen on nearly 13% of all teams recorded. (Out of over half a million battles.) Right, so he doesn't see a lot of play at all.

That aside, the reason he sees so much play? Because he is a dominating force in the metagame. Almost every team had to have a counter for Salamence. It was unacceptable to have a Salamence weakness. Dragonite, with his lower speed, is more flexible. And Flygon doesn't have the same offensive power. Kindgra, while boasting both, requires set up to be that powerful. Salamence could come straight from his ball, fire off a few huge Base Power attacks, and almost guarantee a 1 for 1 on the enemies team.

That hasn't been seen since Garchomp. So, I'm happy he's gone. Dragonite, Flygon, and Kingdra have seen a lot more use now. It's finally time for other 'mon to shine in his place. And, for the first time in a long ass time, the metagame knows what it's like to see some diversity. (Though, Heatran and Scizor are still seen way too much.)
