Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Character In-Game Movement.
« on: February 16, 2010, 04:39:08 AM »
Well I apologize if this isn't the correct spot to ask a question but I didn't see a: "Ask your questions here!" section. Ok so my question is: Do characters in game move in real time? like for example in some other Pokemon online games you can only move your character one tile at a time and must continue to click to get your character anywhere (example: Pokemon Indigo or Battle Arena) Or does your character move in real time? (example: Pokemon World Online)

I apologize if you don't like me stating other games on this forum but I was only using them as an example.

And I can't see for myself as I don't have this beta access.

yup it's all real time movement with arrow keys.

Although before you post anymore I suggest you read through the forums some and using the search bar to make sure your topic hasn't been already talked about. :P

This one's going to be amazing :]

Anyways here's some small words of advice: Before posting anything in the  forums, make sure to read over some of the things that have been posted, if you feel like no one's posting an idea of yours then use the search bar to the top right to make sure :P

Anyways welcome to PU!

Quests & Plots / Re: The Shiny Pokemon Quest!
« on: February 15, 2010, 04:06:43 PM »
how about they apear on all of the islands but they only appear if you have seen its type before for example if you have seen a shiny rapidash and only that then only rapidash will appear as shiny but at a low rate and maybe a cave in the middle of the island were you can change a normal pokemon to shiny but it has to be able to evolve and becomes shiny in evolution but you can only do it if u have a special item and it disapears after every use and you only get it by gifts or deafeat legendaries on other islands

you just made it extremely complicated and random...

about the types thing, why not just have something like that poke etch app about types

Because that's supossed to go with pokemon info, in the pokedex. The Poke etch shows doesn't show any types.

Even as a distraction many people might think its dumb if theirs Pokemon in the zoo that can be found a lot in game. If theirs a zoo it should be for exotic or legendary types, since zoo's hold a lot of extinct animals.

I agree that there should be some not so common pokemon, but legendary... ? no. Why would there be a legendary pokemon in the zoo anyways ? They'd break out and kill everyone :3

Anyways you know pokemon like Primeape, Aracanine, Sudowodo, ect

ahh true i guess.

well i know for sure when a shop sells a lot of pokeballs (compared to other shops) the pokeball price in that shop becomes higher.

I think the money you're able to hold onto should be infinite. It's your hard earned money, so if you're rich then it's not you're fault. Why be punished by putting a cap on it?

As for the problem for the auction house, I guess PU will have to put a cap on the items.
For example:

 Item---------Lowest CAP------Player average price-----PU TEAMS High CAP

Potion......................$1.............................$700...........................$2,000
Pokeball..................$1.............................$450............................$1,200

The 2k cap is just so players can't chansey up the economy with wanted to selling a potion for $30,000.

(this was only an example, I know you can buy these from the pokemart), but you might be in a pinch inside of a cave, and you don't want to leave, so someone might sell it to you for 1k, when we know it's worth 700.

Anyways expand on the idea. I lost my train of thought.

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Name suggestions for citys/caves/routes etc.

I thought i could be of assistance if i looked up some cool sounding plants/flowers/trees so here they are :)

Hibiscus
Amsonia
Chrysoma
Eryngium
Hamelia
Lantana
Oxalis
Phlox
Paspalum
Penstemon
Zamia
Yucca
Vernonia
Solidago

so there you go, I don't care if they are used or not, but that is some of the more interesting sounding plants i found, and surprisingly some of the easier ones to pronounce, hope it helps :) ;D

haha I love Yucca, it's the root of a plant, and it's extremely good xD When made right of course.

Great idea.

I can see the zoo ending up being one of those places that players go for the heck of it. Plus, diversions are always fun.

Just so that the zoo doesnt get old too fast, There could be a "featured exhibit" every month or so that features a rare poke' (for a limited time of course).

nice, nice :D
I'm really liking the idea, and what you're saying is true also.

People will want to just walk around the game sometimes and not really do anything, so a Diversion is the perfect word for it.

Johto was the most interesting one for me, they introduced night and day, eggs, hunting for the legendary pokemon, and even pokemon haircuts!

Although I'm more familiar with Hoenn, so.

I guess I'm stuck between Johto, and Hoenn. But I love Kantos 151 xD

hmm, this is a good idea and I like it but it's mean if you think about it for you are taking a pokemon egg from the wild and keeping it for yourself

I don't have morals about stealing when playing a game. ;P

Now I bet many people are wondering why the hell would there be a zoo in the game ?
Safari zones don't count ;P

Well basically what I was thinking was:

As we all know you've got to do some things in the game before getting your pokedex, so why not when you get it, help people get started off.

I think it'd be cool to go into a small zoo, and get at least 1 pokedex file of each TYPE of a pokemon.
(Fire, Grass, Rock, Dark, ect.)
Not only would you get a start on your pokedex, but you'd see some cool sprites of pokemon.

Now I know many of you are gonna bash on this idea, and say things like "I know MY types". Well just because you do doesn't mean everyone does. It's true PU is going to attract many pokemon fans, but hopefully it'll attract people who are new to pokemon. so we all need to keep in mind that not everyone understands how the pokemon games work.

So it's just a thought, you can add onto it of course. If I feel like I forgot something then I'll come back and edit it.

Game Features / Re: Emphasizing more on what player's want to become
« on: February 14, 2010, 03:48:45 PM »
It could definitely give the trainers something more than just grinding.

Luckily we get quests, and tournaments too to gain some experience too :D
Grinding definitely makes a game really boring.

Quests & Plots / Re: The Dark Figure Hidden in the Shadows [SPECIAL QUEST]
« on: February 14, 2010, 03:39:51 PM »
It all seemed to flow somewhat and i saw where you where going with everything, but how exactly are the water pokemon going to fight off the sharpedos ?

When making quests keep in mind that the PU team is going to have to create special sprites for that quest.

Quests & Plots / Re: [Quest] Dying Flame. (Easy)
« on: February 14, 2010, 03:35:18 PM »
thanks for everyone feedback :D
The only thing that was brought to my attention was the charmander sprite.
Althoughhh
Alais said that it's possible to make the dying charmander sprite, so that works out.

I know it's a hella easy quest, but everyone else seems like they're trying too hard to come up with something amazing, I'm trying to think of something easy and doable; something that has a chance at getting implemented into PU :p
