[q]Either Squirtle or Totodile. Pure water types that can learn ice type moves to get help them defeat their weakness to ground type pokemon. Mudkip's full evo (Swampert) is Water/Ground, so it becomes 4x weak to grass and probably won't get any ice moves off, and Piplup's full evo (Empoleon) is Water/Steel, and since steel is weak to fire it loses that advantage.[/q]

*apologies for failure to quote. Didn't notice the button, and assumed it was done via BBcode.*

You mean grass type (bold) I assume?
In any case, I've always thought Mudkip/Swampert were awesome because grass types typically aren't that common, are they? Or at least I personally hate them, except for Chikorita/Treecko. I figured electric types would be more common for some reason.

I also think that fire neutrality isn't much of a weakness for getting rid of grass-types. After all, I probably wouldn't want my Typhlosion going up against an Empoleon. The fighting type weakness is notable, though, so the steel dual-type does probably hurt more than it helps. (runs away from Blaziken)

^The above is very much based on opinion. I know absolutely nothing about competitive play, so take that with a healthy dosing of salt.

I'll probably be a follower and pick Charmander, but my overall favorite pokemon is Squirtle. I just don't like his evolutions, for some reason.

Although there's a chance I'll pick Cyndaquil. I'm going to answer that for now, he needs some love.  ;)

Yup  ;).  I can get a little giddy at times though, so I won't always seem 100 % formal. Or at least I hope not. Thanks for welcoming me guys! I appreciate it.  :D

I'd just like to quickly introduce myself to the PU community. I'm typically a lurker, although I do sometimes emerge from the shadows at forums to post. I hope to see you around, and check out my profile if you get the chance- feels like I just took 30 minutes to write the about me there.

See you around!  :)

Edit: Oops. Just read the "Read this First!" topic. Can't believe I made such a rookie mistake. Alright, here's some more info:

I've played at least one game out of each set of pokemon installments. I am most certainly not a skilled or dedicated player, but I do enjoy the games. I've been a member at several forums before, and am a member of the official review team (of user-created content) at another. I do try to keep my posts professional and almost always keep a cool demeanor.

I'm both a huge fan and a talented (or at least, mostly talented) player of the Fire Emblem series by Intelligent systems, and have played all of those U.S releases. The only one I didn't enjoy was Shadow Dragon.

If you'd like more elaboration on my interests and the like, check out my profile and comment if you like. I'm not a member of any social networking sites, by the way.

Edit 2: Oh, and mods, if you'd like to remove this I'll be happy to reintroduce myself at the New Trainer Hangout. Just stay the word/ do the action as you wish. Highly doubt I needed to say that, but just pointing it out.
