I think it could work if it's done slightly differently. In the games you only get the pokedex after you've went on a journey to deliver or retrieve something. so maybe when you get back to the professor's lab he/she could ask you to name or point out pokemon that they've seen around the town. The pokemon they describe would be one that you fought on the way. The professor might say something then like: "You seem to have a good eye for pokemon and your starting pokemon likes you a lot. Maybe I should give you a pokedex."

I pretty much always keep my starter pokemon in my party and i'll admit that it is due, in part, to sentimental reasons. In fact i get so attached to my starter that i feel guilty if i leave them out (except pikachu, i've never had this problem with pokemon yellow)

ignore the ignorant people, wierddemon. 5'10 is not short, in fact in Glasgow that would be considered tall. and II never gor the impression from your answers that you were gay. in fact i doubt that Drbg11 even read them alll.

Hello Dragon_Trainer. Hope you'll have fun here. (Bit of advise - I wouldn't ask when the game is going to be ready on any of the other threads or boards cos the people in charge get annoyed with being asked that. Oh, and the answer is when it's ready)

Charmander wins as it was my first pokemon. Also in a strange way fire created water because all the elements in the universe (including the hydrogen and oxygen needed for water) were created in stars (giant balls of FIRE) through nuclear fusion. So there.

I'm Fergal (aka Caitlin) and I'm new to this site. Probably like a lot of you, I started playing the games when the cartoons came out. When not playing pokemon I like reading, playing sports (especially tennis and netball), watching tv. I also spend an unfortunate amount of time working. I look forward to meeting you all in the game.

Hi everyone. I'm new to PU but have been into pokemon since the cartoons. I played in Pokemon Neon but that died and have been looking for a good mmorpg since. From the screen shots I've seen PU looks like it's going to be much better than Neon. So about me. Fergal is actually the name of my cat. My name is Caitlin and I'm from Scotland. I'm 19 and when I'm not feeding my pokemon habit I read, play sports or work. Can't wait to play this as it looks amazing.
