I don't think the beginning of the game should be completely controlled by your choice of starter pokemon or hometown. I think it should be centered around your rival to. I think rivals should be a huge part of starting. I think in this game rivals should not only be nuisance but sometimes a friend. You should also be able to choose your rival. for example you could choose Gary Oak or another player. Please tell me what you think and elaborate on them.
