Ok I was playing on my ds and I found the ultimate double battle pokemon for 3 gen that arnt legendary they are latios (if you can call him nonlegendary the battle frontier doesnt or use dragonite) and lapras.
this is why
lapras's special ability lets it take surf and makes it its own hp and surf hits both enemies and give him shell bell and hes unbeatable
latios can learn surf pyshic icebeam and thunderbolt and give him leftovers and its even harder to beat
using this strategy I have done 100 battles in the battle frontier in a row

Hiya guys I picked squirtle because I love water pokemon for starters because everyone else takes fire but yeah for a starter charzard has great speed and power so I could see why so many picked charmander. (not to mention ashs charzard kicks but in the show)

I love Lance he is really cool and the guy in the battle frontier who has all the regis Tyson also was really good and I loved Richies pikachu's little fluffy hair and Gary but my favorite is prof. oak not many know but he has a dragonite in the anime special for 10 years of pokemon and I like how he knows all there is to know and almost all other pokemon professors and alot of trainers so he tops the list. so here's the list 6 richie 5 frontier regis 4 Tyson 3 ash 2 Gary 1 Oak

Thanks for the correction he does not say charzard but they refer to it as his "other pokemon"

Ash loves to start over a lot and he likes to challenge himself with things like matching up the types so he's at a disadvantage and giving his more weaker pokemon a chance to battle than sticking to what he know can win like when he used pikachu to beat the the first gym in Diamond and Pearl dawn said why don't you get charzard and ash said he must use his new pokemon instead because they were is team.
