News & Announcements / Re: ALERT! PU NEEDS MOTIVATION!
« on: February 19, 2014, 06:14:25 AM »
Huh, I've been here for a bit... in the shadows after my initial burst of fun in the sun.  I'm not one for words, but I've been rooting for this the entire time, and still am.  I'm just not quite active on displaying this, which I'm sorry for!  I don't think one user makes much of a difference, but I'm sure there's plenty of us who, like me, have just been faces in the background and silently cheering on.

So, I guess it's time for a proactive approach (and hopefully others follow suit). I may be up to my ears with college studies, but that doesn't stop me from sending out word to some people who could possibly help.

Not sure what a "mapper" entails, but I know a guy who I've used in the past to make little d&d encounter maps... plus he's in college for video game coding and stuff to boot!  Would that be of any help?

Where exactly are you at when you are trying to use the device?  Are in you the Pal Park or some place similar?  I don't think the PokeRadar works there.

Also, have you used any form of a cheat device to alter the game?  It might be cause for the error if you have.

*hug~* Hurr, nah it's cool.  I don't want to make anyone leave their guild to join mine.

But from what I see I just have to be patient and let the name of my guild get out there for others to see.   Okay, time to make a snazzy signature and all that so that my posts advertise for me. Then whenever I'm able to be more active I'll try and be active in things so that everyone is able to see the guild without having to have it shoved down their throats.  Danke all!

Advertise?  How am I supposed to do that without shoving it in their face?   I honestly get peeved when people come out of nowhere trying to poke me to join this or that when I just signed up for a site.   Usually it's overwhelming enough to be someplace new, having someone try and recruit me the second I walk in the door just makes me want to turn tail and run the other direction. X3

Hahahah, it seems so far that anyone who would want to join Sol is already a knight!  I guess that knights and paladins are much the same....

Also, I think I might have to edit the name... I just realized the anagram for the clan is very... undesirable.  Sol Paladins will have to do, though the image will take a bit to edit...

Heheh, well thanks everyone.  Hopefully things do go well~ And yeah, I wouldn't want any of you guys to defect from P.K. just to join.

General Chat / [Guild] Sol Paladins
« on: July 10, 2012, 10:38:04 PM »

Welcome, Trainer, to the Paladins of Sol!  It is within these halls [or this thread rather] in which we operate: whether it be setting up some good spars, managing guild activities, or just plain socializing among brothers.  It is our job to better the community and pave the way to a bright future for all!  May the sun always shine its glorious light!

The Barracks

Leaders:

The leader is in charge of the guild, and is the highest power in the guild.

Head Priests:
  To be determined
The head priests are second in command, and act like administrators.   They are in charge of the guild's events and do more moderating than the other jobs.

Head Paladins:
 To be determined
Head paladins hold the same power as head priests, but act much more hands on and pull lighter strings.  Head Paladins act as mentors for the lower ranks, and usually hold some battling prowess.

Paladins:
 To be determined
The sticky glue that holds us together.  This is pretty much the general rank for full fledged members.

Squires:
To be determined
This is the lowest rank... everyone has to start from somewhere after all.  This rank is more or less what one holds while his or her potential is assessed.

Our Code and Recruiting

Our doors are open to all, though we have a love for Psychic, Fire, Flying, and Electric Pokemon.   You do not have to have these types to join, but those who join our ranks must follow a strict regimin!  We are defined by a code of three rules which we must hold in our hearts always!  It is what guides our guild, and is our main goal for being here.

1: Shed light upon all so that the world may grow.

Our main reason for being formed is to teach and nurture the world so that the whole community may be rich.  One does not have to be a braniac to help out, even the humblest of men has something they can teach.

2: Show comradery to all.
We do not hold our friendliness to only our brothers, we treat everyone equal.  We are friendly and curteous to everyone and put our best foot forward.  Hatred is not welcome within our halls.

3: Purge the world of darkness.
No, we are not out to get Dark Types.  We actually love all Pokemon!  The darkness we are referring to is  the darkness within the community (trolling and things of that sort).  The Paladins of Sol hold no place in their hearts for ne'er-do-wells, and we make sure those that deserve it are punished so that the darkness may be cleansed.

All members have to follow this code, from the newest recruet to the leader.  And speaking of new recruits, for those who wish to join our ranks all you have to do is ask a Head Paladin or higher and then they can let you in.

Other info

Seeing as PU isn't quite out yet, we can't really live up to our duties.  Also being new to the scene, we are in a recruiting state.  For now we will follow our code and keep to the forums, helping out in what way we can while also trying to bolster our numbers.  But once the game is out we'll be patrolling the game and following our code to the best of our ability.

As our code says, we are mainly a community oriented guild, but we strongly promote competitive spirits.  We also have a ranking system in play to help members know how they stack up against their brothers and sisters.   We'll also be aiming to host many events later on for ourselves and all of PU.

Like most other guilds, until the game comes out this thread will also be a place of discussion for the members.  But after the game is brought out the thread will be limited to guild related topics.

-being a new guild, the front page is a WIP and liable to change-

General Chat / Re: What is your favourite Season in the anime?
« on: July 10, 2012, 06:21:57 AM »
Hm... for me I'd have to say I liked the Pokemon Chronicles season/series the best. Nothing against the main story, but I've seen enough of Ash Ketchum to last me a life time.  The Pokemon Chronicles gave me a nice change of pace and offered some side plot that wasn't all about Ash or directly related to him.

Urs was low to the ground, ears perked and eyes staring at figures a good distance away.  His nose had lead him to a settlement.  From here Urs could not guess the size of the group of buildings, but he knew that humanoids would dwell within.  Most humans didn't like wild animals coming in their settlements, and seeing as Urs seemed so beastly he doubted he'd be received well.  He needed water though, and doubted that he'd find any source for miles other than with these humans.  The monster growled low as instinct drove him to move ever closer to water.  He had to survive... water was a necessity.  He'd be risking his neck to get some, but no matter what he'd be in trouble.  Die from dehydration or death from a mad mob?  The mob had it, at least there was a slim chance of not getting killed by a group of people.

Urs continued his march, his movements having slowly grown more sluggish from lack of water.  He could go a while without any hydration, but it had already been quite some time since a nice long drink.  Hopefully he wouldn't be attacked the second he got close...  he hadn't tried entering a city for a long time so he didn't know if people were still as frightened of his appearances as they usually were.  He could only try and find out...

10
Urs had finally finished his task, a good amount of metal covered with a coat of glistening red lay on the dirt beside the monster.  His body had already clotted up the wounds, and the healing process was beginning well now that the intrusions in his body were removed.  Urs then went to lick his claws clean but hesitated.  His stomach was full, and a thought had just appeared in his mind.  An image bright as day was portraying itself to him, and Urs guessed now would be a good time to just relax and let go of the animal inside to let his imagination loose.  He took a deep breath and relaxed before searching for a good "canvas" to use.  Urs marched slowly in a random direction until he found a decently sized boulder.  He simply approached it and then sat next to it.  He had to stop himself from cutting himself though, deciding that some dirt could prove a nice median.

The beast dug his large claws into the earth and pulled up some soil, slapping his arm to the rock and then smearing it about.  He kept repeating this, adding swoops, lines, and all kinds of shapes to the picture.  He smeared here, there, scratched a bit to get sharp lines and contrasts, and many other tricks of his precise hands.  Urs kept at this until the scene before him was as close to his mental image as possible.  It was hard to make out at first seeing as the only colors were an earthy brown and stoney gray, but Urs had just depicted a burning city using a dual-tone color scheme.  The texture fit really well, giving the little image a rough appearance to compliment the raging flames.  Urs let a heavy breath of air escape his maw, accompanied by what sounded like a sad grumble.  He had no clue why... but completing the image made him sad instead of accomplished.  Why had he thought this up? Most of his images were just abstracts or things of nature.  Here had made destruction, chaos, fire, and a city.  The exact opposite of his usual art.

Urs shook his head to rid himself of these thoughts.  They weren't helpful, he needed to find some shelter for the night.  He already had a hefty meal for the day, and as such would need a place to rest and recover from these gun shots.  Urs would be out of commission when it came to reckless stunts for a while... but at least he could prey upon wild animals.  What he really needed to find was some water though.  That crate's food was moist, but couldn't replace the real deal.  The bear scented the air to hopefully catch the scent of his target.  He didn't give an indication of if he located any though, and simply just started marching pass the rock and onward.   He had a lot to do before dusk, and he couldn't afford to waste any time.  The monster stood on his hind legs as he walked to have a better view of what was around him, and it was also much more comfortable than moving around on all fours.

Anime is kinda already like that...  *cough cough* Team rocket is never recognized in their many horrible disguises *cough cough*

But on subject I think that Kyurem is just molding it's shape to reflect the appearance of the two legendary dragons.  Its powers aren't really explained in game if I'm right, and I haven't seen it in any movies, so I'm pretty sure he can do some crazy things that haven't been revealed yet. Either that or Kyurem molds to the shape of the counter for the color of the game to where there is always a balance in Yin and Yang.  The possibilities are endless, and right now we're left to let our minds wonder of what the game holds in store for us all.

Also... I like the forms.  They look pretty cool in my opinion.  They have this look of corruption about them that just appeals to me.

Kyurem could just be stealing their appearance for it's own purposes.  They are very symbolic Pokemon after all, and VERY improtant to the plot of Black and White.  Not going to say exactly how so seeing as I hate spoilers... but I'm sure that if Kyurem took the shape of one he'd have people bowing at his feet as if he was one of them.  After all, people in the games are apparently easy to dupe when it comes to appearances.  "Oh hey, a pokeb- oh gawd Electrode!"

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: actual game
« on: March 03, 2012, 05:47:32 PM »
Communication is a vital part of any work force, and game.  I'd hate to play the game and not be able to say "ty" to the person who just saved me from a wild Gyrados attack.  Or for that matter I would hate to be unable to tell my rival "great battle" after a climatic struggle from both our teams.  The ability to communicate is far under-appreciated, but a necessity in anything that will have people interacting with each other.  Having a precise chat system is a high priority in my eyes, otherwise we'd be like the men at the Tower of Babel.

I hope I am not out of line in saying all this, I apologize ahead of time if that is the case.

The rebel recover from the attack. The squad leader contacts wrench.

Sir, we have a problem here. It seems our food supply has been compromised.

I know, I seen what happened from here. It seems you have drawn the attention of a very powerful monster. We can't really do anything about it. Leave the container, and head back to base to recover. I'll send you out tomorrow with a new container.

As the rebels were about to leave, a group of five raiders came by.

Surrender your food, and weapons, now.

Fine, fine, we surrender the food. But let us keep our weapons, we're heading out anyway. We won't get in your way.

The raiders were surprised at how easy this was, but instead of questioning it, they allowed the rebels to leave, and once they were out of sight, they began to open the container.

Both Urs and the raiders were rather surprised to see one another once the container was opened.  The bear had to stand for a moment and let his eyes adjust, but once they did the first feeling that washed over him was a feeling of aggression.  More humans, he'd have to tear through them to get out it seemed.  The bear was full though, and would be much more sluggish.  How unfortu-  He stopped his train of thoughts as he noticed those nasty looking guns that the men and women were carrying, and now pulling out to point at him.   Urs knew he wouldn't feel much pain, but bullets were still a deadly foe to deal with in large number.  And some were likely of that poisonous metal.  The bear was quick to dive down low and try and hide behind some boxes.  If Urs had the ability to speak he'd be crying out "don't shoot!" but his voice box was incapable of speech.

A round of bullets tore into the crates of food instead of the bear, the food within acting as a nice insulator and protecting the monster from harm.  Urs waited it out, knowing that if he hadn't dived away when he had he likely would be full of holes by now.  The bear's ears picked up the sounds of clicking which he connected with them reloading their weapons.  The perfect chance to strike back and get out of danger.  With a roar he rushed out of his hiding spot and for the opened door.  Just as he had thought the raiders for the most part were busy reloading.  The wall of muscle and fur crashed down on the nearest man, and then twisted around and swatted at the second closest body.  Urs was only trying to escape, taking life wasn't a necessity but he wouldn't be against it if he had to in order to flee.

By this time the others had been able to reload, and a sudden round of bullets were fired at Urs.  The bear could feel the hot metal tearing into his side, and he didn't really like that at all.  He got on all fours and used his powerful arms to propel him away as fast as he could possibly go to avoid taking any more damage.  He only stopped when he was assured that he was a safe distance away and that no one would come after him.  The bear heaved with heavy breaths for a moment before dropping on the infertile ground.  That was too much work for one meal, but it was better than starving.  He turned to his side and began to lick out his new wounds to clean them and also pick out the bullets with a doctors precision.  Urs was very adept at using his claws in an accurate manner, so this task wasn't all to hard.  Instinct drove the bear to clean out his wounds, he didn't actually know that this was the help prevent the bleeding, poisoning, and infection.  He just knew that something drove him to clean himself, so he did.  Urs was also lucky that his muscles were so dense, the common bullet didn't travel too far into him which helped keep his vitals safe and let him get out the bullets with ease.

15
Urs had stopped moving after the scent when he felt he was close enough.  It was getting stronger even while he was standing still, so he knew it was coming to him.  The large bear got down low and waited, eyes and ears on a sharp watch for the sign of his prey.  It took a moment but he identified his mark as a growing gleam from the distance.  It was moving rather fast, but not fast enough.  The bear-man just laid in wait as his target got ever closer, and he was able to make out what exactly his prey was this time.

A large floating machine was trekking along the wastes of the land with it's burden of food.  Four men were on this machine as well, of course they were guards or something.  All Urs cared to notice about them with the little time he had to analyze was that they were armed.  This didn't frighten the bear at all, they depended on machines for their survival.  Urs was a body of pure unadulterated talent and power.  His weapons would crush any of these humans that dared to defend the load.

The floating machine zoomed by at a running speed, to which Urs had charged off after.  Given how he was lying in wait for this exact moment he put on a burst of speed and made the leap.  The large mound of muscle and fur landed on the device, which gave a huge wobble from the sudden addition of weight.  The men were taken by surprise, and the shaking had even worsened their shock at the ambush.  This gave Urs all the time he needed.  With a swing of one of those arms he slapped a man off the side of the vehicle which lowered the numbers of the men.   With the initial shock gone the remaining two guards were quick to draw their weapons.  One had a nasty looking dagger while the other a gun.  Urs made a charge for the nearest one, which happened to be gun boy.  As a loud bang sounded Urs slammed into the male.  He was pressed into the large container and the gun sent rattling out of his hands.  That was a second man disarmed, but Urs had taken a bullet to his side.  Urs could feel the foreign metal within him, but there was no pain from the intrusion.

The third man came charging in with a yell, bringing his dagger down with as much force he could muster.   Urs was wise to pull away, the metal had sliced clean through small amount of flesh it could touch.  Was the blade lead?  It must be, to have dealt so much damage.  The bear instinctively backed away from this mighty threat, eying that dagger and the man wielding it to look for an opening.  This man whore himself rather well, against another human an opening in his stance would have been difficult to spot.  But Urs wasn't fully human, and as such he didn't have as much worry.  He recklessly charged in only to find the man duck out of harm's way.  A portion of the container had opened up, a door, which Urs stumbled in seeing as he had too much momentum behind the lunge.  He crashed into a pile of crates with the smell of food all around him.  The container was dark other than the little light coming from the door that had been opened.  But as Urs got up and went to charge through the opening and escape the door shut.  He rammed right into the door which was made well enough to take the force.

It took a moment for what just happened to register, but once it did Urs was not at all pleased.  He had been trapped, he was a caged animal in this container.  He let out an infuriated roar and then slammed into the wall again, having no light to be able to see what he was hitting.  He pulled back and charged again, slashing at the metal which only hurt his claws.  After a few more rams into the wall did Urs stop, having worn himself ragged with the attempt at escape.  He ears perked as he then realized exactly where he was sealed.  He was with all the food.  The hungry bear-man was famished, and here he was surrounded by food.  With an almost childish manner he tore into a nearby box, sniffing around and biting at the contents to test what it was before digging in.   Urs had no clue what would happen to him, but at least he had food.  His goal was met, he would survive for a while longer.
