I'm one of those types of people who are often labeled as "misunderstood". I bear this label with pride. But it often hurts me and offends me. Sometimes, I wonder if anyone will understand me. People say that I'm too slow, I'm too quiet, I'm too loud, I'm too mean, I'm too goofy, I'm too serious, I don't do a good enough job, my bangs are always in my eyes, I'm not pretty enough, I'm too weird, my head is always in the clouds, I need a reality check, I'm a bitch.. If this is so, then what are the good things about me? I'm the quiet girl in class who sits as far away as possible from the others, yet I'm also the goofy, loud girl who enjoys being unique, different. I'm a walking contradiction. I'm an artist, a dreamer, a tree-hugger, a star-gazer, a pacifist, an anime lover, a freak. I'm misunderstood. However, weren't the geniuses who came through with so many things that we use everyday misunderstood as well? Galileo, and Einstien, they were all misunderstood in their time. To be misunderstood is to be great. Perhaps someday, I might be as great as them, and have my name placed in the history books of schools worldwide. But for now, I'm just a lowly, misunderstood teenager, the kind that nobody wants to really deal with. But that's fine by me. I will carve out my path to the future, and maybe someday, someone will understand me.
