I've heard the song. Because I was a Sonictard, when I was young and stupid. After playing Metal Gear and doing my best to fully comprehend what Hideo Kojima likes to think is a "simple" plot, the general garbage being churned out of the Sonic series is disturbing. As a fifteen year old boy, I could write a plot that would make "Sonic and the Black Knight" look like One Fish Two Fish.

If you were wondering, that was an attack on SEGA, not a compliment to myself.

Metal Gear and Sonic stories are good. From what I have experience in, I haven't played all the games in either. So I can't make a fully educated decision. But, people can have opinions.

There is one story to Metal Gear, divided into one Cold-War era section and three modern-era sections.
Let's look at the story of Metal Gear Solid Three:

Jack, codenamed Naked Snake, is sent into the heart of a Russian forest to search for a captured scientist named Sokolov who is being forced by the Soviets to create a weapon known as the "Shagohod". Snake is granted mission support via CODEC by The Boss, his mentor, and the greatest soldier alive.
As Snake leaves a compound with said scientist, he meets Boss on a bridge, where she reveals that she is defecting to the Soviet Union, and is bringing Sokolov and several Nuclear Warheads with her. She overpowers Snake, sending him plummeting off the bridge to a river far below. Colonel Volgin, Boss' new superior, launches one of these warheads at a Russian base. The combonation of the American warhead ending thousands of Russian lives and the presence of an unconfirmed US aircraft in Russian Airspace causes suspicion to fall on America. Snake's mission is changed: Kill The Boss. Snake eventually does so, ending the life of his master. in the epilogue, it is revealed that Boss was an espionage agent who had never defected from America, and the warheads were never meant to be used by the Russians. When Volgin attacked his own men with an American warhead, however, the mission was in danger of collapsing. A weak-kneed president decided that to clear America's name, they had to prove that it was a traitor who had brought the warheads to Russia, and a Soviet Colonel who had launched them. Boss' mission had become death. She could not return to the US alive. To further prove their innocence, it was decided that it would be an American agent that would have to kill her.
Now, assuming you read that big-ass spoiler, you might be thinking, "That's not so intricate." Well, here's the thing: A single game from Metal Gear makes a good story, but it's just a fourth of a web ripped from the rest. To fully understand its intricacy, you need to see all four segments together.

Let's look NOW at Sonic Battle, a popular GBA game, and home to Emerl, a fan favorite.

A robot that's powered by chaos emeralds washes up on shore. Everyone wants it.
It dies at the end in a righteous sacrifice.
I didn't say one was more complex or not. I was saying, they both have values, and some people will like some games more then others.

CE. Combat Evolved. Its what the first game is called.

Whenever someone refers to Halo and CE in the same sentence, the CE stands for Custom Edition. As, in the much better pc version of the first Halo game.
The thrill in playing a game does not come from our chances of winning. It is the weight and pressure of losing that fuels our fascination. It is why people challenge, why they gamble and why they compete. The adrenaline that comes from defying defeat is what motivates us.

Wow, bad mess up on Bungie. Combat Evolved Custom Edition. CECE. That could get confusing.

Lets play the "Whats better than Sonic Music" game! I'll start. Ill post a picture of three people who are better at doing music than the Sonic team is. To be fair, it will not be any actual band, but more videogame music.
I'll post three examples from each and a remix/arrange for each.

Nobuo Uematsu. Final Fantasy series.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7wJ8pE2qKU

And for an arrange, lets do the main theme:

Koji Kondo. Legend of Zelda Series.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpR2fmDs7xA&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43IPAGw01IY

Arrange of the overworld theme, recognised by the general population to be the most memorable theme ever.:

Jun'ya Ota, AKA ZUN. Touhou project series.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7dLp2Eb7cg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRelf7LkH2s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy_-7OXophY

this is probably the most popular remix of all touhou existance:

Yes, I can name every character in that video instantly with no help. Leave me alone...

Now, is this saying I should give commentray why Sonic team can't beat this? Or you saying you refuse to comment?

Probably the second. Nobody can argue say that any bands performing for Sonic The Hedgehog could beat that of Final Fantasy, LoZ, Touhou, Metal Gear, Fire Emblem, LitleBigPlanet (Not even particularly complimented for its music), or even Tetris.

TETRIS.

Want to hear something that makes me want to cry? All of my mass effect and mass effect 2 data is on the xbox that my 10 year old brother moved away with after the divorce of my mom and step-dad/motherchanseyer.

Im going to be very sad face when ME3 arrives

The remix of tetris is better, not needing to be said

I always loved the music for Zelda. I actually don't remember when I first played Zelda... I think I played Oracle of Seasons first, on the Gameboy Color that my uncle gave me when I was three or for. I couldn't figure out what to do on the very first part until I was five. That was a handheld though. The first one I ever played on a console was The Windwaker. I don't remember how old I was when I got it.
