Pokemon sound effects?
« on: June 12, 2010, 06:55:15 PM »
I was thinking, will PU use the original sound effects of the pokemon? For example if a person throws out a Charmander to battle that it realy sais "Charmander". Or will it use the 8-bit sounds of every GB pokemon game?

In my opinion it would be much cooler and draw you much more in the game if it uses the real pokemon sound effects ^^

from what I know as to be logic, I'm aware PU team will use the sound effects of the recent games. Until then when PU is finished with all the other and out of Beta, I think we will have our own versions of everything. That's what I'm believing.

Question to PU's team if coincidental of posting here: Am I not truly wrong of what I've posted?

Yeah, I can't remember if we came to a conclusion about that yet or not, though it has been discussed. I will have to consult the proper authorities to give you an official word. But, your logic, while it does make sense, is not accurate. We plan on making everything in this game, that means, map tiles, sprites, characters, graphics, music, everything! So logically, it would follow that we wouldn't steal the sound effects either.

Whether or not we will be using tones for the pokemon, or if they will say their actual name, i cannot recall.

I see... that also answered my second question which I was too lazy to edit it and put it in. :P
But thanks for telling us the info. I was wondering somewhat the same thing especially the sound effects.

I vote for the original sounds from the games. Makes the pokémon feel more animal-ish and brainless.
