Top 5 Bands?
« on: August 16, 2010, 03:14:50 AM »
My top 5 bands of all time.

Post your favorite bands, and some songs by them. We should all start listening to other peoples music, maybe we will like it!

5. The Police (80s) - So Lonely, Walking On The Moon
4. The Beatles (60s-70s) - I Am The Walrus, I Saw Her Standing There
3. Jonah Werner (Christian-Rock, Newer) - Moonboots, Everytime You're Lonely, Hippopotamus Song
2. Green Day (90s-now) - 86, Brain Stew, Letterbomb, Basket Case
1. Jars of Clay (Christian-Rock, 90s-now) - Famous Last Words, Flood, Liquid, Sinking, Fade To Grey

I prefer the songs from above: So Lonely, I Saw Her Standing There, Everytime You're Lonely (make sure it's the live version, hard to find,) Letterbomb, 86, Famous Last Words, Flood, Fade To Grey

Woops! Forgot about Linkin Park! We all know who they are =D. Listen to Papecut by them.

These are in no particular order
The thrill in playing a game does not come from our chances of winning. It is the weight and pressure of losing that fuels our fascination. It is why people challenge, why they gamble and why they compete. The adrenaline that comes from defying defeat is what motivates us.

Not sure I can actually do this properly... I really love music.

Dave Matthews Band (Rock/Alt/Pop) Crash, Spoon, I did it, Everyday, Funny the Way It Is
Metallica (Metal... it is part of their name and all) Enter Sandman, Master of Puppets, For Whom the Bell Tolls
Kings Of Leon (Alt Rock) Sex On Fire, Use Somebody, Knocked Up
Eric Clapton (Blues, Classic Rock) Layla, Cocaine, Tears In Heaven, Change the World
Mr. Bungle (No idea what to call them) Pink Ciggarette, Air Conditioned Nightmare, Ars Moriendi

No order given... I really can't say who I like more, in fact I could throw at least 5 more names up there without hesitation... But they're all on my "often played playlist".
... ... ... Shh ... ... ... The walls have feet ... ... ...

What do we need this for?

http://www.last.fm/user/Hitey

But oh well. Here are the musician's choices. I'm not mentioning videogame composers, otherwise Nobuo Uematsu would be at the top of the list.

1. Dream Theater (Progressive Metal)
2. Devin Townsend (Progressive Metal / Pop Metal)
3. Between The Buried And Me (Progressive Technical Metal Post Hardcore Metalcore One Million Tags / Awesomesauce)
4. The Black Mages (Progressive Videogame Metal) - Nobuo Uematsu's Final Fantasy rock/metal cover band
5. Mastodon (Progressive Sludge Metal)

I am currently in a phase where my musical taste is taking some radical turns. Currently listening alot to Meshuggah, Cloudkicker, Animals as Leaders, and moar.

*looks at hiteryan*
*looks at modern pop*
*places tarp over modern pop*

Anyway, not including Hitey, Here's my top five:

1) Red Hot Chili Peppers (Rock) Can't Stop, Midnight
2) Sublime (Haha! Death by marijuana means your music rocks! Oh, and Trippy rock would be the genre.) - What I got, Wrong Way
3) Billy Joel (What Genre is Joel? He doesn't sound like rock, but Hip-hop sucks...) - We didn't start the fire, The Stranger
4) ACDC (Rock) TNT. That is all.
5) Whoever composed The Breakfast Machine Theme. (Awesome)

1. 30 Seconds To Mars
2. Simple Plan
3. Bowling For Soup
4. Skillet
5. Linkin Park (except for the rap songs >.<)

It would take me way too long to write why I love each of these bands.
