It doesn't even make sense now...
« on: December 05, 2010, 08:16:24 AM »
Okay, so it seems with each new generation the pokemon get a little bit ... dumber looking. There are too many cutesy pokemon and they're looking more and more ... babyish? They start to look like weird cartoons, like this guy:

To the point, it seems like they don't even care about logic anymore. With pokemon born wearing clothes, such as this guy: , you wonder how it could get much worse right?

Well how do you explain this:

Honestly, HOW DOES IT WORK?! A pokemon born with the pokeball design on it used as a defense mechanism ... sure ... because a pokeball is a natural design...I don't get it. It's like their acknowledging that humans make pokemon...not....whatever legendary they claim did now. I miss when Mew was god :(

True the pokemon have been getting more and more "cartoonist", but I think that gen V has the most diverse type coverage and most powerful pokemon ever.

I don't see much of a problem with the meerkat guy, sure his eyes are weird... but nobody will use him.

As for the karate dude, Pokémon wear clothes in Generation 1, Machoke, Machamp, Jynx, Hitmonchan. Jynx and Hitmonchan were basic Pokémon back then, so they were born with clothes...

The mushroom thing's 'story' is that it was a basic mushroom thing to begin with, but since humans and Pokémon became more and more friends, wild Pokémon wanted trainers to catch them, so the mushrooms adapted the way they looked to catch pray.
Again, Generation I had Voltorb and Electrode which practically are Pokéballs.

I don't see much of a problem with how they look, I only focus on how strong they are at battling.

Well once you get into the 5 or 6 hundreds, ideas are bound to be out there, or be repeats of other pokemon. I've said before that there are way too many pokemon. Do we really need over 100 new pokemon per generation? I say no.

Abilities. and no we don't need so many pokemon. New pokemon every generation is fine, but not this many.

crap... all I want to see is every type combination, not repeats. there are so many repeated types.
When they do that then I will pick my favorite team.

It's nice to have a lot of choice, if it had just stuck to Gen I Pokémon, then everyone would have the same teams, I think.

But I think they should have stopped at Sinnoh. I mean - in Diamon and Pearl, we learn everything about the Pokémon world. Arceus is born, makes Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. Giratina gets banished. Makes the lake fairies, then the world just evolves from there... why do we need to expand the story more? I'm all for new regions and that - but the new Pokémon idea is stupid. I'd have liked to have seen the Unova region, but with a mix of all the Pokémon from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh.

Yeah thats the thing, I'm glad they kept adding pokemon because it made it so that essentially no two trainers would have the same team. However, I think they should just stop here. The new pokemon are the most powerful ever and kind of make the originals look well...a bit outdated.

But we all know they'll probably never stop, because more pokemon = more money. Every new game, every new tv series, its all about money. Why make more cuter pokemon? Cuteness sells. Look how far pikachu's cuteness went. He's on everything you can think of for kids...

It made me mad when they said there are only Generation V Pokemon in Isshu.
" We're starting anew! It'll be just like the first games!"
No, it won't. Especially since none of my old favorites are in the game.

I hope they at least have a nice balance of pokemon then. Not like Gen 4, where your only fire choices are Infernape or Rapidash.

I think the reason they're doing this is because they have too many pokemon to fit in one game at one time. They're not going to put every species in one game.

Then again it could just be marketing. They have never, and will never, put all the pokemon in one generation of game. I don't think. Part of the ploy is that you can't catch them all in oen game. You have to buy multiple games, or know someone who's willing to buy the other game so you can trade with them.
