As Deccers trudged back to his room some kid called out to him.
No time for talking.
He dumped his kit at the foot of his bed, and lay back on the mattress, his boots resting on the metal railing at the end so as not to get his sheets dirty. Thoughtfully, he plugged in his headphones to his ipod. Hiking the volume up, he set it to play The Trooper by Iron Maiden.

Tears rolled down his cheeks as he remembered his old mate Rowan, this had been his favourite song. He remebered clearly how distraught the rocker had been when he'd been forced to cut his long hair to join the army. He remembered holding his best friend, dying in his arms after being ambushed. No 18 year old should have to watch their friend die.

after the guy with a gun said no time for talking he then asked someone where the armory was when renegade got there he was thinking "okay what is there that i can use" renegade found a set of knives he thought that could be useful in a close combat fight so he put them on his utility belt he then put a pistol on his belt and said "i'm set" renegade then went to the  training room and started training

Demos saw somebody on the bed next to him. A new guy. Crying.
"Sorry for your loss." Demos said in a quiet voice.

Demos was talking to a new guy who'd gotten the bed across from his own.  He was crying.
Sitting up, Stefan reached into his new bag, pulling out one of the dessert rations. Chocolate cake. Stefan loved chocolate cake.
He stood up and limbered to the new guy, dropping the rations on his stomach.
"Howdy. Good to see someone around here newer than me."

Deccers managed to crack a smile as a kid dropped chocolate cake on his lap. He wiped the tears from his eyes and sat up, putting the cake to one side. Apparently he was not as alone as he'd thought.
'Sorry for your loss.'
Came the voice from another boy next to him.
'Don't worry, it's an old hurt.'
He remembered where he was and rechecked his kit so as to be seen as doing something.
I can't show any weakness.

Good send his head to the Winged Daggers...

"So," Stefan started, sitting down on the bed next to him, "What team did you get stuck on? Nova, Flare, Rex, or Luna? If you got Flare, I'd suggest finding a new team immediately."

Deccers flinched at the name 'Rex'.
'Technically, I'm on Team Nova. But I don't need a team. I'm here alone.'

"Nova or Luna. Those are the only teams you want to be on. Don't let Rex take you in. He might appear kind at first, but his evil runs deep."

Oh, this new guy was another loner.
"Nah, man, you're gonna need a team. We have capture the flag games, too. Not just 'kill everything that moves'. Speaking of which, I need a new team, Demos. Stuck on Flare. You got any open spots?"

"As of tomorrow, yes. It's quite sad, but you know what they say; Out with the old, in with the new. I'd like to have you on Luna."

I grinned at what Stefan was saying. Teams were unreliable, the survival of the fittest. That was way everyone else would die and I would live. I was a lone wolf.

This new guy looked tough. But how long he would survive was another question.

(That last game was the last game for the week. Tomorrow the lowest scorers will die, and the cycle will repeat.)

"Who are the Winged Daggers?"
Kain had only heard a little bit about them. All he knew was that they were some kind of gang, and their leader's name was Seth.

"You know something? I think it's time for a wardrobe change. New week, new look."
Walking back to his own bed, Stefan grabbed his bag and stepped into the bathroom. He exchanged his red longcoat and black pants for the Forest DPM fatigues he'd gotten from the store, strapping on his new black holster and attaching the UK Blackhawk knife's sheath to his right forearm, sliding the blade in.

Kicking down the bathroom door, Stefan carried his bag back to his bed, hanging the rest of the knives on the wall.
