You seem to forget about the windows! NOW!!
15 men came out and started shooting at Stefan. Two of them got to the 50 cals and started shooting up were he was standing. I darted to the the window and jumped. I landed on one of the fire escape ladders. Now I had to get down 3 floors before Stefan did...

Stefan's immediate reaction to the platoon of men attacking him?
...Balls.
Immediately, he dove for the nearest window. Fortunately, this one was open. He crashed into the railing of the fire escape on the other side, which caused it to come loose.

Regaining his balance, Stefan started jumping down the levels of the fire escape as its bolts were pulled from the building. Each jump threatened to either flatten his face against the wall or throw him off the apartment. As he reached the bottom floor, he noted something unconsciously. the 'bottom floor' wasn't the ground floor. They were fifty stories off the ground. Then the more pressing matter of the entire fire escape falling off presented itself. He grabbed handle of the door to inside, gravity pulling the handle down and the door open as the metal staircase plummeted down. He swung himself in to the first floor.

I jumped through the first floor window just in time to see Stefan open the door. I hid in the shadow and called to him.
Hey! over here!

Stefan heard Rex's voice, and fired three colt rounds in the source's direction.
He stepped away from the door. Didn't want to be thrown out of it.

Stefan counted the shots he'd made since he respawned. Six rounds, minus the four he fired. Two shots left.
"I'm out. Now come out and fight like a man, Rex. Your fans are watching."

Having not enjoyed his last experience with flash grenades, Stefan turned around, covered his ears, and closed his single eye. As he heard the muffled crack of the grenade exploding, He turned back around.
"Listen, Rex, I don't care about the key. I could bust one of these doors down without even bruising my knuckles. I'm going to kill you and get her out of there, with or without the aforementioned key."

FYI I could have killed her when I accidentally landed on her head. But, NO! I have honor! She had the toke I gave you, so I no kill!
I found a piece of wall that had fallen down, I picked it up and hucked it at Stefan's head...

This time Stefan was exactly where the projectile had come from. He even saw the hand that threw it, momentarily.
He fired one round at Rex.

Lots of shouting came from the floor above Deccers. He could make out the distinctive voices of Stefan and Rex.
Inexperienced soldiers. You should never let emotions get the better of you.
Of course, he'd not always followed this rule, but he wasn't about to admit it to himself. Stopping his ascent, he considered his options. The stairs were a no, no. They'd most certainly be covered with some heavy gear. The windows too would probably be too dangerous, Rex wasn't that stupid.
That leaves the roof. Fingers crossed he won't have thought about an enemy from above.

I met my men on the top floor and told them to make sure no one got on to this floor. As I said it the roof started to drop dust...
Make sure no one is alone. teams of two.
I looked the roof for weak spots, I found more then I could count. Great...

Luckily for Deccers, everybody needed to breathe. He used the butt of his rifle to smash open an air vent on the roof. Unfortunately, he was about 3 times too large to fit through. On the other hand, a grenade would suffer no such problem. After pulling the pin he waited for a count of 3 before dropping the phosporus grenade down the chute, secure in the knowlege that chaos would ensue.
The last of his energy spent, he lay on his back waiting for somebody to come.
