Pure Tourney Team, any suggestions?
« on: March 18, 2011, 01:14:50 AM »
Ninjask

Jolly
EVs: 252hp 100def/spec def 58 speed

Ability: Speed Boost
Item: Leftovers
Moves:
Substitute

Protect

Swords Dance

Baton Pass

Basically this my lead/setup pokemon, my team consists of mostly physical attackers so the speed boost plus a swords dance or two is great.

Carracosta

Adamant
EVs: 252 att, 128 hp, 128 def.

Ability: Sturdy
Item: Expert Belt
Moves:
Stone Edge

Aqua jet

Waterfall

Shell Smash

This is one of the best physical water pokemon in my opinion.  And Aqua jet makes for a great priority move.

Chandelure

Modest
EVs: 252 spatt, 240 spdef, 18 speed.

Ability: Shadow Tag.
Item: Expert Belt

Moves:
Shadow Ball

Flamethrower

Energy Ball

Physic

This is becoming one of my favorite pokemon.  Chandelure has amazing special attack and with the speed boost from ninjask plus it's type coverage it makes for a great special sweeper.

Infernape

Jolly
EVs: 4 hp 252att 252 speed.

Ability: Iron Fist
Item: Expert Belt

Moves:

Fire Punch

Stone Edge

Grass Knot

Close Combat

This pokemon is a great physical attacker with some decent type coverage.  Grass knot while not a physical attack can be deadly for anyone trying to switch in a water or ground/rock type to dead with Infernape.

Weavile

Jolly
EVs: 252 att, 4 spdef, 252 speed

Ability: Pressure
Item: Expert Belt

Moves:

Night Slash

Ice Punch

Shadow Claw

Ice Shard

This is a pokemon I have dubbed my dragon killer.  It's faster than almost all dragons and with the speed boost and swords dance from ninjask it can out speed and out power even a dragon dance or two.

Garchomp

Adamant
EVs: 252 att, 252 speed, 4hp

Ability: Rough Skin
Item: Expert Belt

Moves:

Fire Fang

Stone Edge

Earthquake

Dragon Claw

This is my primary sweeper,  with a swords dance or two and a few speed boosts this pokemon is usually unstoppable. (exception: priority moves and such)

Well this is my team, let me know your thoughts and ideas to improve it.

First of all, remove Ninjask. Way too predictable. And I mean way too predicatable. You didn't even need to post EVs and the moveset. I'd suggest replacing it with a Mr Mime to F**k with the other lead. Give it a choice scarf (or really anything choice) and trick. Then give it psychic for a STAB move. Also give it Teeter dance and thunder wave to be able to switch it back in and f**k with other Pokemon later in the battle. Thunder wave also helps if the opponents lead is one of those pesky speed demons that has good attack/sp. attack.
Put EVs in Speed (For obvious reasons) and Special attack. That's just what I would do.
