hey lol :D as an ipod touch and iphone user myself , yes i likes the apple, but i was thinking , if all gets up and sorted (when the games in full swing and avaiable to the public, that u could make an ipod touch/iphone version, of the game, this could then maybe multiply the amount of users on at a time.

Usually devs either develop for Windows or Mac, not both. But, since iPhone apps are in C, I guess it's possible, but I think that would be some years away if they even decided it.

What would be cool is if they made a program for phones that let you check up on tournament standings and possibly only let you chat usin the phone.

Tournament standings would probably be posted via the website. So, all you would need to do is go to the site. They could make a web app, but that seems kind of pointless =/

A web app would probably be pointless because it wouldn't really have any extra functionality the website couldn't provide. The page itself would probably just be a list of name and information. Nothing too fancy that couldn't be easily displayed on phones from the page itself.

I think in the excitement and anticipation of what is to become of PU we're beginning to suggest outrageous things.
I know, I do it myself but I'm just going to remind all of you fellow players.

Thats the point. What if you weren't at home and you wanted to check out who won the tournaments. Go find a computer with internet? sure that works too but its more convenient if you can check on a phone and it's a cool method. Maybe possibly even check out trainers and guild profiles too.

If it's too much of a job or it's a dumb idea than lets just forget we had this convo.

Don't ever ever ever call ideas dumb.
Ever.
I like the idea.
It's just, I wouldn't count on something like that considering Data like that will probably be provided on the website which you can access via mobile device.
Yeah, I know right?

IF we ever release a mobile version of the client it will be when the normal client is running 100%. For a mobile client we have to rewrite the whole code; GUI and stuff to fit the mobile screen resolution and do more optimizations to it can run smoothly on a slow(er) CPU and uses less RAM.

We probably need some extra developers to make this. Also the mobile clients would connect to a different server then the normal clients, since they don't have the same features and stuff.

Well, you would need a Mac to run the development software and you would need to pay $90 to be able to submit it to the app store.

Solution:

Hackintosh (Mac on PC)
Jailbroken iPods/iPhones only (no need to submit to app store)
