The only pokemon I never evolve is my Vulpix.

Well depends on what moves it can learn on the pre-evolution. For growlithe for example, he can learn moves that arcanine cant so therefore you keep him unevolved until you learn them. but usually i evolve unless the move is a must have.

I always evolve my pokemon except on two conditions:


1. I'm Making an evolution set


2. I let my Pikachu keep the Light Ball.

Usually if i let them stay at a pre evolution it's because I'm trying to get them to learn a move they can't learn later, or they might learn it sooner.

Yep. Thats the only reason i would hold them back from evolving, I always want the last evolution even if the Pre-evolution looked better.

I don't evolve them on the level they evolve. I usually evolve the starter at around level 20-25. Otherwise, I evolve them at around 10 levels after when they actually are meant to evolve, unless they're happiness-based evolutions like Crobat or Umbreon, then I just let them evolve.

I check the internet for a pokemon's moves. Like what i did for murkrow, it learns different moves then when it does when its honchkrow. So i decide what move(s) i currently want, and then i evolve them if their next evolution stage cannot learn it.

It's a strategy game, Frenchfry. We're supposed to be practical. That's why I don't care for people that say pokemon X is bad because it looks ugly in their opinion. Who cares about looks outside of contests? The important thing is stats, abilities, and movepools.

I once started training an Azurill for a cute contest because I would rather the pokemon winning the contest to actually be cute. However I think Barboach is much easier to win a cute contest, even though I don't think it's very cute. In contests I can understand. In regular battles there's no reason to bash a pokemon like Scizor just because you think Scyther looks better.

But it was also designed so that six year olds would be able to beat it with little effort. I could understand if Pokemon was, like... ANY kind of challenge at all to beat, but c'mon. I beat the game before I could even READ!

I've solo'd the elite four with a pichu. beating just one player-controlled pokemon isn't that hard, either.
