Well, the reason they do that is to make sure your stupid sister doesn't save over your extremely good file. That did happen to one of my friends twice back when Gameboy games were popular.

Red I was 5 and no idea what I was doing first time I played. I went around pallettown with a lvl. 28 charmeleon before my friend told me you had to go get badges.
lol... but didnt you realise when you were leveling up that you could go other places lol :S

yesterday i restarted my soulsilver game (well i tried to) i just started a new game thinking i could save the game over the other one and i got like half was through johto and then i decided to save lol. but then i realised that i had to press those buttons down in a certain way on the menu screen! i was so pissed and i havnt played since!
