Pokeballs + Apricots
« on: April 24, 2010, 06:47:44 PM »
I loved how in games like Gold and Silver (the originals) you could collect apricots (special berries) and bring them to a guy who would tell you to come back later, and when you got back, he had turned the apricot into a pokeball. Will there be something like that in this game? (I searched, but couldn't find anything)

how about instead of bringing it to some random npc a player can learn to make them themselves and as that skill levels up they can make better pokeballs

I agree with Amphy making it more like a skill would be better and unique to PU.

I don't blame you for not finding it before, but it has been mentioned here:

http://pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,237.0.html

We will almost certainly implement professions including pokeball crafting from Apricorns :)
Remember, unless we say it will be included, a Team Member's speculation and ideas are still just speculation and ideas. Though it may be more likely to be included, there are no guarantees!

Please check out our Jobs forum if you would like to help us with the development of Pokemon Universe. We don't bite, but we do have high standards. Hope to see you on IRC!

WOAH?! Really? Dude Alais that's like.... Awesome. What other Professions are there gonna be? Because if there aren't any better one's I'll probably end up being a breeder, or a Pokeball maker. xD

Hmmm..
No. That would get rid of the concept of catching and training your Pokemon, which would be half the fun in this game. Also, how would you feel if someone stole your prized Pokemon, and you have no way of getting it back?

Great point. Also, stealing each other's pokemon falls under cheating, which is not allowed in this game.

Apricorns, not apricots. (Don't worry, whitney in heartgold and soulsilver made that mistake too.)

Uh-huh

And there was a whole thread about stealing pokemon or not. Use the search bar.
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

I think this is a great idea and maybe we could even make more skills, like a fishing lvl so that way the pokemon u catch doesnt just depend on the rod u use but your fishing lvl also.

This has been discussed. There will probably be a few skills or professions such as making potions and stuff.

Aww come on, just think about all the havolk that would be created... OK maybe your right, as I type the line befor this line  thought about it and some people would cry about the loss of there lvl 100 Aron. But it would still be funny to watch the game go to hell t day it gets released (not for producers), and I might be one of those guys lol. AND I ALL FOR THE SKILL IDEA (FISHING, CAPTURING, AND MAYBE A KO THE OTHER PLAYER AND STEAL THERE POKEMON SKILL. JK!!!

What would be the point in that? You would see everyone's hard work in making this game crumble as less and less people played the game, and more and more people grew angry and frustrated. The point of a video game is to enjoy playing it, not hate playing it. Programmers like to see when someone enjoys their work - even more so when it took them a very long time to make the program. As a gamer and a programmer, I do not want to see that in the game.
