I thought as much. Its pretty pointless making something free then making people pay for it. It would only drive people away from the ps3 and take them to the 360, or wii. I would like a ps3, mainly so i could then compare the two consoles. I can;t really say ones better then the other without playing them both.

Hell yeah lol, Halo Reach and Gears of War 3 make me want to get a xbox360, when I had my xbox360 I played gears of war 1 and 2, goes the same for halo games expect for ODST and Halo Wars

Never got into gears, unfortunatly. I should give it a go some time soon. But Halo:ODST and Halo wars, oh those games make me happy. Halo wars is alot better then i ever expected it to be. Some of the battles on the game can only be descriped as epic, and it really makes you think of what you need to do as soon as the game starts. ODST is a good case of being someone so powerful, then becoming a weaker version. The campaign is alot harder then in halo 3, and the firefight mode is definatly more difficult then expected. Shame it has no match making capabilities, it kinda forces you to have 3 freinds with you constantly.

If I ever get an xbox360 again, I'll buy Halo Wars and Halo ODST to see their storylines. Gears of War storyline is very interesting and playing with a friend or family member is really fun

Both games have good storys. i prefer halo wars to halo:ODST's story but you can see for yourself if you ever get them. I guess i might try and get gears 1, although i won't bother using the online. I got halo for online play.

I doubt people are playing gears 1 online lol, maybe gears 2 but slim chances.

Theres always going to be those few hardcore fans who will keep playing it online. There always has been with online games. Even unpopular ones lol.

I know I'm super late in saying this but I just wanted to make a comment on this.

I personally believe... That CoD MW2, Fallout New Vegas and Halo Reach are too different of games to really be compared to each other like that. Pretty much the only thing that ties them together is that they are all FPS games.

#1 Fallout is an RPG. You can affect how strong your character is by leveling up different skill attributes. You do quests and side missions and pretty much have free reign over how you want the story to play out.

#2 Halo Reach is more of a classic type shooter in the fact that you cannot use iron sights and the bullets use hitscan. The campaign, while being epic in its own way, will be linear as well. It borrows a lot of ideas from other games (loadouts, not like MW2 create a class though) but it is still Halo.

#3 Modern Warfare 2 is a very progressive, modern shooter. It, like Halo and a lot of other FPS games, has a linear campaign. The multiplayer borrows from RPGs a little by giving you level advancement and rewards for doing certain things in the game (Halo Reach does this as well). MW2, unlike Halo Reach, has killstreak and deathstreak awards, titles, and no vehicle warfare.

I just wanted to point those things out. Not trying to put you down or anything!

(tl;dr version - Fallout is an RPG. Halo is a fantasy shooter. MW2 is a modern shooter. There ya go.)

Halo: Reach is looking pretty sick at the moment, I keep up to date with all of the ViDocs on Bungie.net and the forums, and the new content they reveal every week is mind blowing. I'm definitely going to buy this game, the Beta sold me to it.
