there could be some events on the game like the ones on the official games

like a prize rare pokemon from a tournament unlocks something

or an special guild war tournament that the winner guild can go to a special place where they can catch rare pokemons and get cool items like moon stones, rare candys, etc.

also there could be some pokemons like the dogs on GSC that doesnt have a fixed location and the loc changes every minute, there could be one of these pokemon per month and i dont say that these must be legendary, but rare ones could be catched this way, or maybe shinys
EDIT:  if you add the radio feature you could notice the players that X shiny or not was seen NEAR X place via radio

yes its a good idea events like in runescape,e.g in easter events u can get bunny costimes by finishing quests in christmas events u can unlock santa costumes and all this things...
