Holiday Events
« on: June 10, 2010, 08:04:06 PM »
If anybody has played runescape and knows how it works on there, that is what im talking about. Any way, i think there should be some events for all of the holidays and they should be different every year. They could make some quest just for the week of which ever holiday it is and by completing this you can get some special or rare item, or maybe like a clothing article or weildable item to show off. This item doesn't really have to do anything special, its just something to show off and like a symbol to show how long you have been playing the game, becuase once the week of the holiday is over you will never be able to get that item again.

like the 1st christmas of the game, if you do the quest that is open all that week you can earn a santa hat. after that week is over, it will be impossible to ever get a santa hat again. The 2nd christmas of the game you would get a different item like  a santa coat.

I know that probally sounds really confusing but i tried my best to explain it, and i got the idea from runescape and i thought its really cool how they  do it and I thought alot of people would be interested in doing something like that. and I did search and couldnt find anything else about this topic. ok well think it over hope you like the idea.

You explained yourself quite well ^^
All I can say is that they do something similar (quite the same) in WoW (played it 5 years) and I like the concept and the Idea of it. But it's not realy needed, sure it's a very nice addition :) Lets find out what the developers say :P

I'm sure the Team will have one time only events. Now, for holidays, I know not, but for special events like what you said yes.

These things are easy to introduce for a large game with many developers, however, you have to keep in mind that PU has a relativley small team. Therefore, it would be difficult to create new items to meet a deadline which are only going to be available for one week.
I'm not shooting your idea down, I'm just saying it would be hard to do.

i agree with this ^^ it's a good idea of how long you actually played the game

plus maybe it can be worth something in the distant future of the game xD

POW xD

4th of July is very national indeed.
Why don't you think international? - this is a MMO after all.

I dunno... just suggesting some events that could be implemented. I'm myself not concerned by the three events I mentioned and Halloween, but since I came on the internet and have met other people, I came to know them. Well, St Valentine is here, but it's not made a big deal as the holidays we have here.

Mauritius being a multicultural country, you have all sorts of holidays:
Cavadee, Mahashivaratree, Chinese New Year, Eid Ul Fitr, Dragon Dance Festival, Easter, St Mary, Father Laval, and so on :D
