3vs3..?
« on: August 03, 2010, 04:19:20 PM »
New to PU and the forums, so just want to say hi. Don't know if this has been suggested before, but I think it'll be great to be able to have 3vs3/4vs4 battles with other trainers in the game. It'll add a feel of teamwork and strategy.

Comments are welcomed.

No. Can you imagine three or four pokemon attacking a single pokemon in a turn? Not many pokemon could survive an assault like that, if any.

actually, pokemon are only able to attack adjacent pokemon in 3v3 battles.

Ex.
1 2 3
4 5 6

pokemon 4 could attack pokemon 1,2, and 5 and pokemon 2 and 5 could attack everyone. Moves like earthquake, explosion, and surf would only affect adjacent pokemon.
I like slowpoke.

That would improve things, and remind me of the way they do it in Ogre Battle 64. Still sucks to be 2 or 5 though.

I believe Pokemon generation five has 3v3 battles. Not sure if this helps tough since It hasn't come out yet.
Rock, Paper, Scizor is a  broken game. Bullet Punch is super effective against rock and paper.

There is a good chance that there will be 3v3 battles in Pokemon Black and White. So, the best course of action would be to wait for a feature such as this. That way, we'll understand how they planned it better.

Well fact is, there is 3 on 3 pokemon battle in GenV, together with a new mode of battle called triple battle rotation.

For more details: http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/battle.shtml

But until all the mechanics are understood, the feature cannot be implemented in PU.
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Currently playing Pokemon XY/ORAS/Shuffle and Clash of Clans and testing out PokemonRevolutionOnline and Dragonmon Hunter....
Also, forum notification emails are not getting in my inbox... again...

I always assume the safe approach when it comes to games and getting my hopes up; if you like the idea, assume it won't make the game. It's a long process to make a game, and sometimes things get cut.

3v3 will most likely be in the final version of the game, though.
