Slaking is about the most powerful in the game. For the majority of pokemon, the only strategy for defeating Slaking is taking it down without getting hit. This is because very few pokemon can handle Slaking's return or shadow claw attack. Or God forbid you see one that uses giga impact.

However Snorlax can use curse to make itsself very powerful. It can make itsself into a damage sponge that kills almost anything

1.Slaking can also use hyper beam
2.Hyper Beam is a terrible move to give to either of them.

On topic: Snorlax is more of a defensive pokemon, and Slaking is offensive. But it only attacks every toher turn.
The thrill in playing a game does not come from our chances of winning. It is the weight and pressure of losing that fuels our fascination. It is why people challenge, why they gamble and why they compete. The adrenaline that comes from defying defeat is what motivates us.

i know alot about pokemon but i don't know this answere...
personally i'd pick slacking way better stats and the one turn rest wont really matter unless snorlax is using less accurate moves and connecting

I find snorlax better because the highish defenses help the fact that it has really high HP.

My personal opinion: Slaking + Giga Impact+ Choice Band = Win

true, but if someone comes in with a good STAB fighting move; maybe even focus blast with a special sweeper on a rest turn and a choice scarf, that Slaking is going to have some trouble, Snorlax has a much higher survival rate at that point and time

Ya i guess thats true too, but with slaking's massive health i imagine he could survive at least one move.

You wouldn't even need that. Giga Impact forces Slaking to rest on the Truant turn. This means he can no longer switch out during his Truant turn.

The way Slaking rests, you could win with one move: Protect. Simply Protect on the turn that he is not loafing around and you are guaranteed to take no damage from any of his attacks and are now free to use the Truant turn as an attacking turn.

What's this I smell? A simple plan? In POKEMON!?
This is some baaaaad mojo, people.

Either way, I was probably gonna go with snorlax, but then after reading what raikt said, I was like, "Yeah, Snorlax."
I mean, slacking wasn't even good enough to make an appearance in Super Smash Bros.

Snorlax:
HP: 160
Atk: 110
Def: 65
Sp.Atk: 65
Sp.Def: 110
Spd: 30

Slaking:
HP: 150
Atk: 160
Def: 100
Sp.Atk: 95
Sp.Def: 65
Spd: 100

I like Snorlax better.
