[Game] Some 'unanimated' battle
« on: January 24, 2010, 04:38:38 PM »
I don't know if this thread will go far, but I'll give it a try.

Ok, the rules!
- You choose one pokemon at a time, no switching.

- You keep that pokemon, until it faints (you choose when your pokemon faints, but be reasonable. In case your keep your pokemon alive for too long time, other players can make requests for the user to declare his/her pokemon fainted, and the player will have to do it.)

- You can have only 4 moves (duh), but not need to say all moves. That leaves the freedom to choose any move that is learnable by the chosen pokemon when your pokemon is in difficulty. But you cannot change your move if you already played it.

       For example, I have a bulbasaur and I do vine whip. I won't say the other moves now. I can choose the other moves later on, depending on the situation. Now, say I used poison powder, tackle and growl some time. That completes the moveset and I cannot say for example, bulbasaur has razor leaf.

- No items are allowed.

  Update 26 Jan:
  - If you want to include damage calculation, feel free to use the formula from here(http://www.serebii.net/games/damage.shtml)

  If you is that, take the random number as 100.

  Update 9 Mar:
  - Do not use the same pokemon again so that the battle doesn't get boring
  - Evolving pokemon within battles are no no. You can use their evolved forms though, separately.

~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, I'll start.
I send out Gligar.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?
Hmm, nobody made a move? Ok, I'll give you a change to get the game better.
Gligar used Swords Dance. Gligar's attack rose sharply!
[I'm gonna attack one pokemon on next turn, prepare yourself!]
Gligar uses Protect! Gligar protected itself!
Gligar uses Rock Slide! All pokemon on the field are affected.
(4 moves used Earthquake, Protect, Swords Dance, Rock Slide)
Lucario took damage, not very effective!
Charizard took damage, supper effective!
Lucario lost 10 HP and fainted!
Charizard lost 150 health and almost fainted! Charizard has 20/171 HP
"Hey, Jerry! Let me help!"
Darkmage64 sent out Aggron!
"Aggron! Use Metal Claw on Charizard!" It only grazed him!(1st move)
BTW:Can we use combos as long as they're reasonable?
