Software application ideas?
« on: February 01, 2010, 05:12:23 AM »
In my free time, I develop software applications for the PC and I need some ideas on what to create next.

I was going to create a desktop pokedex app because I eventually wanted it to become much more than just that. However, after creating 1/4 of the database, I couldn't think of anything that it could actually be used for, than just a pokedex.

That being said, I turn to you, the community, to see if any of you have some good ideas on what I should create next.

It can pertain to pokemon or not, it doesn't matter. I just need something to create, something that I can really get into and be passionate about.

I've been thinking about it for the past few days, but I've come up with nothing so far T_T

As far as my programming background goes, I've mainly developed system apps, apps dealing with databases and so on. I've not really delved deep into the multi-media parts or game parts.

Either way, all suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks :D

Well, if you complete your pokedex first... with all the movepools, abilities, pictures (male, female and shiny sprites), etc that would be a good reference to any trainer...
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Currently playing Pokemon XY/ORAS/Shuffle and Clash of Clans and testing out PokemonRevolutionOnline and Dragonmon Hunter....
Also, forum notification emails are not getting in my inbox... again...

I was considering finishing it, since it's pretty simplistic. However, there are a million and one online Pokedexes.

In order for me to make a Pokedex, I'd need to add more functionality than just basically a desktop reference app.

You could design a damage calaculator, so you could tell about how much damage your move will do to the opponent.
I like slowpoke.
