I completely ignored everything you asked except for the fact that this is, indeed, a Flying Gibson V.
Maybe Silver will actually do what you wanted. Meh.

I don't have a Flying V though, I have a Traben bass but I thought the Flying V woud suit the signature.

I have to say that the Sg fits my style of playing, for ska it can get this amazing crisp clean tone and for punk it's got this great crunchy sound.

I don't really like les pauls because of the placement of the pickup selector. (strange right?)  I always hit it with my arm and that just annoys me to no end.
