Applying for a writing position
« on: September 23, 2011, 06:15:52 AM »
Sorry to mods but I've found an interest in writing.
So if there's anything such thing that exists I'll be happy to apply for it.
Again ther's no experience in it but the want to do it.

Sorry for the pixel artist but my scanner is just stopped and doen't seem to be working.

It's okay, but still, it's better if you can provide previous work to back up the 'why you should be taken'

And as pixel artist, you should be able to work with graphic software, like Paint, Paint.net, GIMP, photoshop, etc. No actual must to scan.
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

While i commend you for trying to work so hard, don't you think you are trying to take on more than you can handle with all the appliances? If not, great! Anyways I'm pretty sure you mean Quest Writer or along those lines. If no previous work, just post one that is recent (which means make one).

If you wish to apply as a Quest Writer, please write a sample quest and either post it on the forums, or email it to me. Please be warned however, that we are not actively looking for Writers and so, it is unlikely that your application will be accepted.

Starting scene.

You wake up, dazed and look around for a bit. It takes a while for you to notice everything around you is burning. You hear the screams of death and the courageous roars of the advancing Barbarians. Your brain clears and you stand, but as you do a barbarian rushes you, surprised you jump out of the way and pick up a dead soldiers weapon and shield. They are damaged but you manage to dispatch the attacker with them.

Quest.

Captain Roderick: You! Get over here and help defend our fortress, we’re outnumbered 3 to 1.

You: Yes sir!?
_______________________________________________________________
Task =   Kill as many barbarians as you can.
Rewards = Starter sword and shield, Broken amour, 500 gold.
Hints = Kill any enemy in sight.
_______________________________________________________________
After quest completion.

Captain Roderick: Great work! I think these items are well earned and a sum of gold of course.

Once you receive the items you are welcomed by the surviving warriors to a hearty meal and drink.

Well, and I who thought it would be a huge wall of text...

Take this quest as an example with the feedbacks provided. The member then got into the team.

i (sort of) read that other quest line and I didn't think you wanted every detail in a single quest, just the basic quest.

I'll give it a simple explanation: Basic Quest/Idea = Any Forum Member can suggest
                                                     Detailed Quest = Quest Writer

Not exactly true but It does show a bit of a difference.
