If you feel like it, you can play the game like that, if a pokemon faints, you release it as if it died, and just catch a new one. While you do that, the rest of us will play the game our way. I don't like the idea of pokemon dying in game, it would be a waste of time.

Cause when you reach the Elite Four and you try and battle them and all of your pokemon die, then you would have to start over and try and get new pokemon and train them for the Elite Four again.

  Maybe Pokemon could die, but death would not take the place of fainting.  Instead, maybe there could be factors that contribute to the death of Pokemon.  Think about it, all living things die, and in-game, Pokemon are considered living things, so allowing them to die would make sense.  But a Pokemon doesn't just die after losing a battle, it takes a long time.  Maybe a Pokemon could die after fainting so many times (This number would be set pretty high), but also things like poison, burns, and paralyze could contribute to the death of a Pokemon.  Think of it this way, each of these things has like a tube that can fill up, and when they all are completely full, the Pokemon dies.
Faints:||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Poisons:||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Burns:||||||||||||||||||
Paralyzes:|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
  Don't worry though, there can be a person(people) that wipe all of these bars clean.  It's just an idea, but maybe it could work.  Opinions?

I like that idea they can play their way while everyone else plays theirs.

Honestly pokemon being able to die, is the dumbest thing ever.  I mean I'm gonna spend hours finding the right nature, breeding the correct IV's and moves, and then spend more time training the dam thing.  chansey pokemon dying.  I'm not gonna do that poop over again and again and chanseying again because chansey it, a pokemon died.

Chansey that!

Remember that there probably be as much competitive battlers as that and I don't think they would care either, hence the thread here ::)
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Currently playing Pokemon XY/ORAS/Shuffle and Clash of Clans and testing out PokemonRevolutionOnline and Dragonmon Hunter....

this game is aimed for kids, i dont think they'd incorporate a "dying" mechanic to the game.
