Pokemon Zoo
« on: February 14, 2010, 04:14:27 PM »
Now I bet many people are wondering why the hell would there be a zoo in the game ?
Safari zones don't count ;P

Well basically what I was thinking was:

As we all know you've got to do some things in the game before getting your pokedex, so why not when you get it, help people get started off.

I think it'd be cool to go into a small zoo, and get at least 1 pokedex file of each TYPE of a pokemon.
(Fire, Grass, Rock, Dark, ect.)
Not only would you get a start on your pokedex, but you'd see some cool sprites of pokemon.

Now I know many of you are gonna bash on this idea, and say things like "I know MY types". Well just because you do doesn't mean everyone does. It's true PU is going to attract many pokemon fans, but hopefully it'll attract people who are new to pokemon. so we all need to keep in mind that not everyone understands how the pokemon games work.

So it's just a thought, you can add onto it of course. If I feel like I forgot something then I'll come back and edit it.

Every game has "useless" things, but they are still fun to see/play with.

This is one of them. I like it.

Great idea.

I can see the zoo ending up being one of those places that players go for the heck of it. Plus, diversions are always fun.

Just so that the zoo doesnt get old too fast, There could be a "featured exhibit" every month or so that features a rare poke' (for a limited time of course).
Am I a ghost or a man? Or a man-ghost offspring that come from mi father's inexplicable penetration of mi mother's ghostly woman parts? Or am I a child imitating a man's ability to change into a ghostly form in order to preserve mi appellation?

nice, nice :D
I'm really liking the idea, and what you're saying is true also.

People will want to just walk around the game sometimes and not really do anything, so a Diversion is the perfect word for it.

Even as a distraction many people might think its dumb if theirs Pokemon in the zoo that can be found a lot in game. If theirs a zoo it should be for exotic or legendary types, since zoo's hold a lot of extinct animals.

Because that's supossed to go with pokemon info, in the pokedex. The Poke etch shows doesn't show any types.

I agree that there should be some not so common pokemon, but legendary... ? no. Why would there be a legendary pokemon in the zoo anyways ? They'd break out and kill everyone :3

Anyways you know pokemon like Primeape, Aracanine, Sudowodo, ect

Those would be pretty funny in fact... imagine there is a guide there, (s)he tells you

"See that pokemon?"
"Where?"
"Here."
"Can't see..."
"Sudowoodo!"
-Sudo?
"Wah! A moving tree!!!" :D

And Phosphorous, it's Kecleon :)

Poke Zoo is a very interesting idea, and as Mr_Dark said, something useless, but fun. It would be a great place for trainers to gather, and for non-ultimate poke fans to get to know some basic, and some reare, maybe even one shiny pokemon. But legendary... NO :o! Legends are MENT to be special by being seen only a few times in game! You should make Zoo more interesting, like adding a qest in it ::). In the qest, you would have to find Pokemon, wich bad guys (which ever team) had stollen. It would be a beginner qest (easy to make) and you would get some ordinary items from it and some money.
There could allso be events held at Poke Zoo,...

I agree that is a pretty cool idea. It really can help out the newbies. I can also see this becoming a popular stop/hangout for people. But I do wonder if that would induce lagging because of the amount of people gathering?
Other than that great idea :)
