I've done some pokemon when I was trying to edit some pokemon sprites, so yes, I guess I've seen quite a few.

One quick

Images become cooler than sprites as you can see.

I always enjoyed completely obliterating shiny's in crater xD  Especially when the opponent brags about how epic he is because he has a full shiny team, you see a shiny like 1/4 of the tim anyway in crater >.<

*shadow* pokemon would be a cool thing to add to the game... if they were to be added i would say that they should be similar to the designs in Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, were as the player would gradually purify the said shadow pokemon until it eventually became "pure" once again, of course what the op says is entirely different from the Colosseum type of shadow pokemon, it seems to me that op would like a negative version of shiny pokemon, which would be fairly useless.... but anyway back to shadow pokemon, i believe that if that would be implemented it, it would most likely be an expansion. It would give players an opportunity to do something aside from gym battles or mini games if they're implemented, purifying shadow pokemon could become a sort of job, similar to how crafting works in fantasy mmorpgs.

But if you were planning to purify it, then what would the point be of getting the shadow pokemon in the frst place?

they could have different abilities than pokemon one would catch normally, this could compensate the new feature in black and white, called dream world abilities.

Oh, I get it. So they're losing the darkness, but retaining the benifits.
