Stadium PvP
« on: January 28, 2010, 04:50:56 AM »
okay here's another idea

you could add on each city a building called stadium
here you have battles with others with level limit or some special rules

if you win you can get some stadium points (SP) that you can exchange them for prizes that usually are on the casino on the official games (porygon, powerful TMs, etc.)

also users could watch other's battles or bid SP to someone, the ones that bids to the winner gets the percentage of the ammount bidded to the loser

math: total2*(ammount*100/total1)/100

example:

P1 vs P2
O1 bids 500  SP to P1 (22%)
O2 bids 1200 SP to P1 (88%)
O3 bids 2000 (%100) SP to P2
P1 wins
O1 gets 440 SP (%22 of 2000)
O2 gets 1760 SP (%88 of 2000)
O3 loses 2000 SP

also the player could bid for himself but must be the same that the opponent bid to prevent it

this bid system could be only for tournament because this needs a lot of time of preparation

on PvP battles you could only bid a fixed ammount that must be the same for the two without observers

if someone run out of SP he/she must buy them, but only if he/she have 0 SP

Havin stadium in every city is useless. Theres just too many cities. As for the biddin system, it can be abused by purposely losing. This should only be applied to tournaments if it ever will be implemented. Biddin system that is.

Nah I don't feel anything for it. We will have tournament where you can win prices.

About the bidding system, you can get mafia like stuff as Oslash said losing on purpose. Example:
A player does it really well and wins for x number of rounds.
The ods of him/her will win will rise and more people will bid on that player to win.
When the stakes are high, the "mafia" will bid all their money on the other player 2 and let player 1 lose on purpose.
???
Profit

i doubt there could be something like "the mafia"
if this is only for tournaments i doubt that someone would lose on pruporse

Well if they offer that person a lot of money (more then he would win when winning the tournament). I'm sure someone will do it.

bad idea to accept that this is how the other convinces the player to lose and then he disconnects and keep the prize, since this is illegal the player cant complain to the admins :P

also you could add some report system with rewards
this could keep away the cheaters

anyways
this stadium could be on every pokecenter instead of the wi-fi plaza or link battle zone

Er.... why do you need this when you can see/battle everyone when walking around?

This sounds a lot like a battle frontier, but with real people. I think it should be possible eventually, the major problem being getting enough people entered at any one time.
Remember, unless we say it will be included, a Team Member's speculation and ideas are still just speculation and ideas. Though it may be more likely to be included, there are no guarantees!

Please check out our Jobs forum if you would like to help us with the development of Pokemon Universe. We don't bite, but we do have high standards. Hope to see you on IRC!

1- special rules
2- find opponents with pokemon of your level
3- win SP
4- organized tournaments
5- easier to organize 2v2 matches

Those things are for tournaments. The stadium thing sounds like it's always open you just have to find players who're there.

If there's gonna be a pokemon league, will it be run by npcs, or can trainers join and fight each other?

There will be NO pokemon league.

Having trainers become Gym Leaders will not be possible because no one can stay online 24/7 to be able to battle any trainer at any time, plus why would a trainer patiently wait in a gym if (s)he can use this time to do more interesting things in the game?
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Currently playing Pokemon XY/ORAS/Shuffle and Clash of Clans and testing out PokemonRevolutionOnline and Dragonmon Hunter....
Also, forum notification emails are not getting in my inbox... again...
