['RP'] Digital Alchemy
« on: July 09, 2011, 03:59:23 PM »
Hey guys, Shadowfred and I have been designing this game for a few days now, and we're ready to finally put it out there!

It's less of a role-playing game, and more of an interactive adventure.
The basic idea is, we post a picture and a bit of story, you tell the characters what to do!

For example,
DAVE: Push computer off desk.

If there are multiple commands, we will take the best and most entertaining ones!

There will be combat and crafting in this game, so buckle your seat belts and let's go!

------------------

You wake up in a jail cell. The door appears to be tightly locked...
The room is filled with cameras, blinking lights, and little beeps. One particular machine appears to be monitoring your heart rate.
You're not sure what to do, you don't know what would happen if you even attempted to stand.
You figure it would be best to sit, and wait, for something... anything... to give you guidance.

JerryEDIT: I'm giving this RP the green light. And RP is open to all, no profile required.

"You've been given the green light kid," a gruff, older man yells at you through the bars on the door, "You know what that means!"
You really don't.
You massage your head, you're even finding it hard to remember your name...
Come on, you know this one.

Check out the computer so see what's on it, if you don't remember your name.

EDIT: Forgot we have to give a command

Check out the computer so see what's on it, if you don't remember your name.

You check the computer, but, it doesn't seem to have any information that hints at your name...
All it has is a series of lines, with an X, Y, and Z co-ordinate. It seemed to move along the X as you approached - this may be your position in the room.
You notice that a fluid is leaking from the back of the computer, it smells metallic.

?: Stands on the table and tries to grab one of the cameras.

You notice the cameras - they have green lights on them... maybe this is what the guard wants you to do?
You balance on your tippy toes, a reach as far as you can, but...

You sooner fall off the table than reach your goal.
"Try to touch one a' those cameras again and I'll have to shoot yer!" the guard yells through the door. "Now come over here before I do just that!"

In your horizontal state, you can feel an object in your pocket digging into your thigh.
Congratulations! You now have access to your inventory!

Inventory:
  • 1x Small, plastic card.
  • 2x 10-Sided Die

Take the radio device and go to the calling guard ready to attack with your new found weapon.
It's ghost dammit, GHOST!

Go towards the door before he shoots you.

Take the radio device and go to the calling guard ready to attack with your new found weapon.

Ignoring the guard's warning, you look around the room for something to attack him with.
You eye the machine on the table that is monitoring your heart rate... you're not sure if it's the best choice as it is probably connected to your heart, but it seems to be the only option.
You pick it up, it's rather heavy, and it feels dense.
You're not sure if it can block bullets... but... it'll have to do for now.

"Okay, that's it! I'm coming in there," the guard says, as he unlocks the door. "No-one ever seems to want to co-operate in this place."
He doesn't seem to actually have a gun on him, which is quite a relief. He must have been joking around after all.
Either way, it's too late to back out now. You brandish your heart rate monitor over your shoulder.
Its beeping speeds up as you prepare to strike.

attack the guard.

You swing the heart rate monitor at the guard - he calmly pushes your arms aside, upsetting your momentum.
While his lack of firearms was a positive spin on this fight, the fact that he has been well trained as a guard is not-so-hot.

The guard follows up his deflection by punching you square in the jaw, knocking you unconscious.
As you pass out, you somewhat regret not just doing as he said.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I have a follow up to this scene, you will regain control of the character soon.
Don't panic due to the lock.

You feel your feet being dragged along the floor... a man grunts as he pulls you to your destination.
You hear a voice in your head... "It's nearly time to wake up... Be ready..."
Be ready?! You're unconscious!
Even the voices in your head are demanding.

You wake up to see a hallway ahead of you, with 3 doors to choose from.
"Oh, you're awake!" the guard chirps. "Thank God, I was tried of lugging you around".
You look down to see that you are handcuffed.
Looking back up, you hear the annoying voice again, this time with strange floating words to accompany it. "Prepare to run in 3..."
You prepare yourself as much as a dizzy, handcuffed man can.
That guard might pose a problem though...

Woop, looks like the voices already had plans for him.
The guard yelps as a strange force lifts him off his feet and throws him against the wall behind you.
He lands back on the ground with a loud thud.

"1..."
As you read this final counter - the walls begin to envelop and dissolve the doors that the voice has not deemed your "target"
Throwing guards against walls is one thing, walls consuming doors however, is new.
You'd love to watch the process, but, you don't know what will happen if you defy this voice. Better get a move on...

You lumber through the door, into a very dark room.
The only light that illuminates the room is actually coming from the hallway behind you.
And, surely enough, the room gets darker as the door is enveloped behind you.

So, you're alone in a pitch black room, with a dizzy head, wobbling legs - and nothing but a pair of handcuffs to keep you company.
And that ellipses above your head. Yes, we see you there, ellipses.
You need a plan.

Use the ellipses to guide you through the dark room.

You quickly grab the ellipses above you, you're not sure of whether you're surprised that each ball is tangible... either way, they're emitting faint light.
You roll your first two balls along the ground beneath you, and they both fall several feet and come to rest below you.
You roll the third, slowly, and watch as it hits several rungs on a ladder on its way down. You grab onto the ladder's rialing and start to make your descent.

Halfway down, the lights in the room turn on as if by magic.
Definitely a tamer magic compared to what you've witnessed in the last 5 minutes, but magic nonetheless.
You look behind you, to see a woman standing behind you.
"You made it!" she exclaims. "Let me just get rid of those handcuffs."
Your handcuffs rust, crack, and fall to the floor.

As you dismount the ladder, the woman waves at you.
She seems friendly, which is nice, but it's not as if you've met before.
You greet her in a similar tone.

"Haha! You remember me right? Come on!" she laughs.
You don't.
Well, this is certainly awkward.
Say something quick!
