Storage system
« on: October 08, 2011, 02:56:46 AM »
Unlike my last idea, I did search to see if this was suggested, but it wasn't.

The idea is for an easier storage system. I will place them as a list to simplify.

-A mobile storage system organizer, that way, a person can organize their Pokemon as they wish, or check to see how they set up their boxes or Pokemon storage, but not be able to withdraw or deposit Pokemon in the middle of a field.

-A search function to find the exact name, type, color, tag (like stamps, but specific names), etc. inside the box, for the people that really want to catch them all. (excluding legends of course, must always remind people.)

-A team organizer, where the player can set six specific Pokemon as a separate team, and be able to switch between them quickly at the designated retrieval area(PC) without having to go through the long deposit withdraw stage.

-Need I say it, more storage space. But this would probably be a given.

That's basically all I can think of. Feel free to jump off this idea if you have other suggestions for the storage areas, or post comment on it, ridicule it ( I know someone will), or any feedback whatsoever.

Nice Ideas. Mind if I put my own little spin on it?

One of my issues was that I always caught a pokemon, and had to run back to the pokemon center to take it out. My idea is that the game gives you the option to send it to the PC OR immediately switch it out for a pokemon in your party.

Good ideas.
I honestly can't see any harm in swapping your team around remotely in the field anyway.

It's more fun for players (well, less of an annoyance), and makes it so that when you enter a Pokemon Center, you won't lag the hell out due to 700 million people crowded around the PC.
Well, less of a chance anyways.

I agree with Level5Pidgey, that I wouldn't mind being able to withdraw Pokémon on the field, but anyways I like the ideas. Keep 'em coming :)

I believe this was already mentioned once, but maybe also a guild storage system, could be implented, but with some kind of restrictions to prevent people of joining a guild and stealing all the money/items/ pokemon from it (only people who have authority from the guild leader can withdraw etc). This would make paying for the guild houses alot of easier too, you could just take money of this deposit system. It would also increase the 'guild' feeling if you could catch certain pokemon for someone else. If you're online at different times this would be really annoying, but the box system would help solve this..

Edit:
What do you think about this Level5Pidgey?

Indeed the Guild Storage has been mentioned before, here: http://pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,3454.msg75452.html#msg75452

Personally, I have a problem with switching out pokemon in the field. Imagine you are climbing some mountain or something, and your pokemon are low on health, you simply switch your team out for one with full health, thus making the ascent much easier. This could also make quests with multiple back to back battles easier. How about a system where you can switch your team out remotely whilst in a 'safe area' because they have a good reception or something?

Agreed Declan.

Concerning the other ideas mentioned;
- Mobile storage - not bad.

- Search... I wouldn't mind. Though with the way I arrange my boxes, I tend to know exactly where my pokemon are :P

- Team Organiser - Not bad either. Maybe an elaboration on it?
:::
You set some 'templates' which you can name and arrange.
Eg. The Elemental-Elites guild case example:
Mr. Bug aka Roloc has two bug teams, one specialised in dealing specifically with mono-Rock teams and another for other mono-teams. Roloc will have the ability to save the two templates of his pokemon teams in, and when desired, selecting the template will fetch the pokemon wherever they are in his storage or party and put them in his party according to the template, while depositing the other pokemon in one (or more) preset box.

- More storage, I think that will already be given :P

And to add to this, instead of the current 'move one by one' pokemon, maybe add an option where you select all the pokemons you want deposited and the ones you want withdrawn at the same time. This brings the ease to customise your team anytime, without having to recourse to too many templates (or if you want to try a new team).

I remember a thread (created very long time ago) where I mentioned the multiple selection option... anyway, mentioning it once again since it doesn't appear in the search :P
No one can go back and change a bad beginning; but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.
If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If it cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Currently playing Pokemon XY/ORAS/Shuffle and Clash of Clans and testing out PokemonRevolutionOnline and Dragonmon Hunter....

Ah, I didn't even think of that.
Yeah, fair enough.

You're right Declan, but that's not what I meant. I only meant that when you caught a pokemon and you already had 6 in your party, you would be able to choose which of the 7 were sent pack to the PC.

Not only can you switch for a Pokemon on full health but just putting your Pokemon in the PC fully heals Pokemon so could just put it in and take back out again on full health, which would completely defeat the point in potions

I don't really like the idea of the player being able to access their storage in the field, at least to grab their pokemon. As others have said it would just make the game a bit easy.  Now I know that the Pokemon Center would be very crowded and laggy.  To solve that problem why not simply make an instanced room within the pokemon center for the player to grab their teams.

One, in the first post, I clearly stated you can't withdraw in the middle of the field, you have to go to the PC to get your pokemon.

Two, I made this thread a while ago, and it died, we have a rule on Necro posting. Lock please.
